Original was redirect[edit]

The original "The First Ten Years" article only contained a redirect to Joan Baez, because there was a compilation cd from this artist. However, because that cd was nowhere mentioned in that entire article, I don't really see any harm in transforming this "The First Ten Years" article into an article about the Iron Maiden cd-series of that name. Hi User:Tokus the Baez album now has its own article. See The First Ten Years (disambiguation). This album whether it should have been created at the Baez redirect or not is not the only topic, nor a primary topic per WP:SONGDAB. If you don't mind I'm going, per SONGDAB, to push it on to (Iron Maiden album) on the same footing with the Baez album. In ictu oculi (talk) 12:19, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine, I moved the article again because it is a box set rather than an album. User:Nerdtrap
Oh okay, is The First Ten Years (box set) allowed per WP:SONGDAB? In ictu oculi (talk) 12:38, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry User:Nerdtrap, it looks like we don't subdivide albums and box sets: Talk:Discovery (Pink Floyd box set), name of artist still required by WP:SONGDAB hence The First Ten Years (Iron Maiden boxed set), In ictu oculi (talk) 13:05, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think the issue is that we can have variation in the dab, but an overlap still needs clearing, so [John Smith (English guitarist)] vs [John Smith (American' musician)] wouldn't have exactly the same dab, but guitarist is a subset of musician, like box set is a subset of album, so further dab is needed. User:Nerdtrap you removed "Iron Maiden" but there are other The First Ten Years albums. A box set is still an album. In ictu oculi (talk) 06:46, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A box set may be classified as a type of album, but box sets are still easy to differentiate from other types of album. The fact that this is the only box set with this title, and the fact that this is related in the title, means that the title contains enough precision to clearly distinguish it from all other articles and that adding the band's name would be unnecessary. The disambiguation guidelines (WP:NATURAL) state that titles should not be more detailed than is necessary, meaning that the addition of the band name is inappropriate.--Nerdtrap (talk) 17:14, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
