Influence on gear[edit]

shouldn't this be "The Who's influence on Cream and Jimi Hendrix's gear"? There's nothing about sound here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.125.110.223 (talk) 14:57, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I also had issues with this article. It's primarily about Marshall Stacks. It is a very interesting and noteworthy article, but it is currently written poorly, and only concerns this one aspect of The Who's influence on rock music instruments/equipment, of which The Who is well-known innovator in several regards.
I think the originator of this article started a worthy subject, and wrote the article from the basis of obvious expertise, but it is currently badly written, and needs to be cleaned up, and also expanded to include other aspects of The Who's famous influence.
Unfortunately, I lack the expertise to do this, although I'm interested in the subject. So I hope this article doesn't get deleted, but instead expanded and re-written... StrangeAttractor (talk) 06:22, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A bit repetetive[edit]

This article has a lot of repetition with content already found in other showcased Who related pages. Is it really necessary? Peter Fleet (talk) 19:03, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article should be deleted. We all know that bands like Beatles and Led Zeppelin influenced more artists and inspired music. So why don't we have an article about "Led Zeppelin's impact on musical equipment"??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.186.73.203 (talk) 20:11, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

where's.....?[edit]

..... anything about JE's use of alembic basses & pre-amps?

agree with the sentiment above- this is a nice idea for an article, but it's waiting for someone with a detailed knowledge of the band's tech during their heyday to come along & fill in some huge gaps. entwhistle for one was notoriously fussy about his sound, & went to great lengths (hybrid basses, custom built basses & amps, bi-amping, huge arrays of PA speakers) to achieve it.

What about The Who's other Musical Equipment?[edit]

The article mentions only two aspects of The Who's equipment: The amps; and Rotosound strings. Quite possibly they used more equipment; e.g. it is conceivable that Pete used certain guitars (I remember seeing them numbered!) and John used a row of different basses during his carreer. Keith used up a lot of drum kits - what brand? What sizes? And since Roger, Pete and John accasionally would sing, perhaps they used microphones, too? This is just a stump of an Article. For comparison, e.g. see the books on "The Beatles Gear" and "The Rolling Stones Gear" by Babiuk. -- 93.194.81.33 (talk) 20:51, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
