Picture removal by the subject[edit]

@Gw Tumbleweed: This may be a sensitive question, but come to think of it, do you mind telling us why you don't want the "outdated" picture to be on the page? If there's legitimate reason (e.g. it invades your privacy or misrepresents your identity in some way), it may be removed per the Biographies of living persons policy. Oh I just don’t like it because I don’t really look like that now - can I upload a more recent photo ? Gw Tumbleweed (talk) 10:36, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Gw Tumbleweed: As long as you own the copyright or you get the photographer to write to the Volunteer Response Team that they give up certain rights to the picture so it can be released under a license compatible with use on Wikipedia. Your headshot was deleted because the team didn't receive and process such a permission in time. You can do it now to get it restored (see your Commons talk page for instructions). Or you can upload a picture you own the copyright to. Nardog (talk) 20:18, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Gw Tumbleweed: You can't "grant the rights to this image to the wikicommons" if you didn't take it yourself. You make a living from IP. You must know this. Nardog (talk) 12:59, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I own the rights to this photo therefore I can grant the rights to the commons the same as the old oh to you kept putting back ! Which was also paid for by my company from the same photographer ! Gw Tumbleweed (talk) 20:57, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I own the rights to both pictures ! Gw Tumbleweed (talk) 21:01, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia has strict policy on media usage because it's under copyleft licenses that allow it to be modified, distributed, and used commercially. It's what makes the movement possible in the first place. You need to contact the Volunteer Response Team to keep your picture because otherwise we have no proof you're actually the person you claim to be. It looks like you've already emailed them, so it won't likely be deleted this time.
The previous picture was considered free because it was on the Annecy Festival's Flickr labeled under the CC BY-SA 2.0 license. But in light of your comment, I looked more in the Flickr and found stills from WolfWalkers, Your Name, and Frozen labeled as under CC licenes. This makes the license claim on your picture suspect, so I've filed a deletion request for it. Nardog (talk) 07:04, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
