Vallorbe as a place name outside of Switzerland[edit]

There is a Vallorbe Drive in Valdosta, Georgia (USA), established 8 February 1952 (Lowndes County Courthouse, plat book 4 page 122). This street is reputed locally to commemorate the Swiss ancestral home of the Vallotton family, who owned the land through which the street ran. The southern part of Vallorbe Drive was later re-named White Oak Drive, a longer street with which it connects, but its western part retains its original name. The Vallotton family made one fortune in dairy farming, and another in land development.Alfredwillis (talk) 02:42, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
