Diminutive?[edit]

The name vatrushka comes from the word Vatra that means "fire".

I'm not sure, but isn't vatrushka a diminutive form of vatra? If so, it should be stated in this sentence. -- Obradović Goran (ta^lk 19:51, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

More likely to be a diminutive form of "vatrusha". Compare: "norushka" in мышка-норушка (from нора [nora]) and "kvakushka" in лягушка-квакушка" (from the verb квакать [kvakat]; syn. квакуша [kvakusha]). Some green life forms are called zelenushka (from зелёный/зелен/зелень), and white things belukha. --AVRS (talk) 09:24, 19 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
