Naming[edit]

According to the article, the island was named by James Saunders in 1849-50. However I have a copy of Derbyshire by Arthur Mee, which states that the island was named after Sir John Wolstenholme of Holmesfield in Derbyshire, who was a founder of the Virginia Company and helped fit out Henry Hudson's expedition. Thus this seems to be the same John Wolstenholme described here, which states that the island was named after him in 1615. Is there more than one Wolstenholme Island? If not, which source/s is/are correct? PaleCloudedWhite (talk) 19:02, 27 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
