If only Channel 4 had decided to keep the "promise" they made on their web pages. From http://web.archive.org/web/20011127022306/http://www.channel4.com/xfire/: "X-Fire will return in the new year, along with our fantastic SMS game. If you want to be the first to know when X-Fire splats back please fill in your details below and we’ll let you know."

It was one of the decent programmes they produced!

http://www.youtube.com/user/3w3tube - This guy has 6 of the episodes up, quality is pretty shitty, though. Channel 4 don't really have much experience producing watchable television, so this show was a welcome surprise. Doubt they'll revisit it after all this time. 86.30.14.139 (talk) 12:15, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

End of programme[edit]

Looking into why this did not continue - a friend of a friend was a grunt on the programme and says there was an incident involving the freezing of some paintballs which ended with a blind grunt. This could be the unaired episode "star wars" which is discussed on the ukgamesshows site referenced in the article - anyone know anything about this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blizmo (talkcontribs) 14:42, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was working on the show at the time. There was an accident where a runner if I recall was indeed hit by a paintball and later lost vision in that eye. At the time there was already a bad whiff of cancellation in the air, a third series was planned and everything was greenlit to go but there was a feeling of walking on egg shells. The show was violent. The first real incident would have, and did shut down production. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.155.88.237 (talk) 14:33, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Series[edit]

Officially there is no series 2, just series 1. After the first five episodes the series was taken off the air because some people felt that it was too close to the real-life battle in Afghanistan. The remaining episodes went out in summer 2002 so it was still series 1. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dalek Sram (talkcontribs) 17:30, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
