Production[edit]
In 2007, the media reported that Dileep was making his Hindi debut in a Hindi-Malayalam bilingual directed by Major Ravi.[4][5] The film marked the second time that Dileep had done a film in a language other than Malayalam.[6] It also stars Rajpal Yadav and takes its name from an Amitabh Bachchan film of the same name.[7] Om Puri and Baby Niranjana were reported to star in the film.[4] The film was produced by Santhosh Damodharan and was shot in Mumbai and Pune.[3][8][4] It was initially scheduled to be released on 4 July 2007 due to the success of Dileep's films released on the same date.[9][needs update] Dr. Jayan Titty George, the producer of Vachanam, also plays a small role in the film.[10]
