Welcome to my user page

My name isn't really Amelvin1968. I was born in the late 1960s in Manchester, England & was convinced by a friend that the world wide web was the future in 1995 so I got a Demon tenner-a-month subscription, downloaded the DOS toolkit & uploaded my first webpages from my flat in Nottingham. Since then I've done a bunch of things but mostly stayed employed in the business that is web. I like writing, sport, reading, watching TV - all the normal stuff.

Me and Wikipedia

I started contributing to Wikipedia in 2009, but have always been a bit unsure how much I should do as I'm unlikely to have enough time to do much before I retire - which is unlikely to happen before the 2030s!
