The Walking Dead is a five-episode, graphical adventure game created by Telltale Games and released during 2012 for Microsoft Windows, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and iOS devices. The game is based on the comic book and TV adaptation of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead, taking place in the same fictional universe and simultaneously with events in the original work, though featuring a new cast of characters.

Lee Everett

Main article: Lee Everett

Lee Everett, voiced by Dave Fennoy, is the player-protagonist character in the series. Prior to events of the game, the player learns that Lee was a university professor, but upon finding another man, a state senator, sleeping with his wife, killed the man. He was arrested and convicted of murder, and is being taken to prison at the onset of the zombie apocalypse.

Clementine

Main article: Clementine (The Walking Dead)

Clementine, voiced by Melissa Hutchison, is a young girl, around eight to nine years old, that Lee meets early in the series. Her parents had previously traveled to Savannah prior to events of the game, leaving her with a babysitter. When the apocalpyse started, the babysitter was attacked and converted, while Clementine took shelter in her treehouse. She helps to warn Lee about the babysitter when he enters her home, and joins Lee when he offers to protect her and look for her parents.

Katjaa

Katjaa, voiced by Cissy Jones, is Kenny's wife, of Belgium descent, and was a veterinarian before the outbreak. She is loyal to her husband, is a caring parent to her son Duck, and sees Lee as making a good attempt to be Clementine's surrogate father. She uses her medical skills to try to help out where possible, but when Duck is bitten by a walker, she starts to become emotionally upset. As they are travelling via truck, she fears Duck's condition has become severe, and Lee convinces Kenny to stop the train. She offers to go euthanize Duck for Kenny, but when she goes off, she instead commits suicide, and Kenny is forced to deal with her death and what to do with Duck.
