Melissa Rosenberg[edit]
Melissa Rosenberg was born on August 28, 1962. She was born in California, in Marin County. Her full maiden name being Melissa Anne Rosenberg. Her parents were Jack Lee Rosenberg, who was a therapist. Her mother was a lawyer, her name was Patrica Rosenberg. Her major work included being a producer, examples include Love Monkey in 2006, Dexter from 2006-2009, Red Widow in 2013, and more recently Jessica Jones from 2015-2018. She has been nominated for three primetime Emmys, and 8 other nominations.[1]
Early Life[edit]
Melissa was the second born in her family of four. Her father was jewish, and her mother was Irish Catholic. When she was a child, she enjoyed talking in front of others, giving presentations, and acting. After her childhood she left for college and graduated from Bennington College, Vermont, where she majored in Dance.
However, she instead changed her mind about a dancing career and would get involved with the film industry. She moved to Los Angeles, and went to the University of Southern California. There she got a degree with the Peter Stark Producing Program along with a Masters in Fine Art specializing in film and Television Producing in 1991. Early Life

Career[edit]
Melissa Rosenberg began her film career writing for several small television projects including, Class of '96 (1993), Dr. Quinn/ Medicine Woman (1995-1996), [Outer Limits] (1996), [The Legendary Journeys] (1996-1997), [of Five] (1999-2000), [Magnificent Seven] (2000), [McBeal] (2001), [Agency] (2001-2002) [of Prey] (2003), [O.C.] (2003-2004),and [Monkey] (2006). Rosenberg was busy with many projects throughout her young career, including screenplays that took place between and overlapping her writings for the aforementioned shows. For example after her first season on The O.C. (2003-2004), she was incldued in the writing for the dance screenplay called Step Up (2006)[2] . Rosenberg also wrote screenplay and produced the long-running Showtime Tv series, Dexter (2008-2013) An Entertianment company, Summit Entertainment, reached out to Rosenberg for her to write and produce for the Twighlight Saga (2010-2012). Most recently, Rosenberg is producing and screenplay writing for Marvel's Jessica Jones (2015-2018) on Netflix. However, as of February, 2019 Marvel's partnership with Netflix has come to an end, meaning Jessica Jones, the show that Rosenberg was a main writer and showrunner for, is being discontinued. This includes other Marvel productions, The Punisher, Luke Cage, and [Fist]. The split between the two media companies comes after the announcement of Disney+, Disney's own streaming service coming out in November of 2019. Personal Life[edit]
Melissa Rosenberg is one of four siblings, her oldest sister named Andrea and her two younger twins brother/sister Erik and K.C. Her mother passed away when she was in her early teenage years and her father was remarried. Rosenberg is now married to her husband and TV Director, Lev. L. Spiro, and they live together in Los Angeles, California
Other Work[edit]
Rosenberg also supports other female screenwriters through the WGA Diversity Committee, and she also co-founded the League of Hollywood of Women Writers. She is a major supporter for equal work and opportunity in film and production within Hollywood.
