Tailenders (テイルエンダーズ) is a 2009 anime original video animation. It was produced by Studio Picograph[1] and premiered in the Sapporo Film Fest 2009.[2]
Synopsis[edit]
Taking place on the planet Terulus, terraformers were used to change the environment but after one goes haywire much of the land is unlivable due to wildlife mutations and devastating earthquakes called "stampedes." This led to giant mobile wheeled cities to be made to outrun the stampedes for what was left of the population. Shiro Tomoe is one of the top drivers that participates in the wheeled cities pastimes of racing competitions with the goal of beating the record of the legendary racer "Loser King." After Shiro is terribly injured by a stampede in a race, a mysterious woman named Tomoe Mikagura offers to replace his heart to be the engine of his own car on the condition that he must win the Planet Redevelopment Race and beat the Loser King.[3][4][5]
