I am Mike Waghorne. I am retired (October 2007). I used to work for a global labour/trade union federation, Public Services International (PSI - [1]) and was also, many years ago, active in the New Zealand gay rights movement. I am therefore interested in following Wikipedia articles on issues related to these two areas of activity and the associated activities of the bodies concerned. For example, at PSI, I had particular responsibility for our work on the international financial institutions (the World Bank and the IMF), the OECD and the World Trade Organisation (WTO), as well as having responsibility for a range of topics related to public sector reform and modernisation. My WTO work involved me in acting as a bridge between trade unions and civil society organisations, chiefly the coalition/network known as Our World is Not for sale (OWINFS - [2])and NGOs based in Geneva working on trade policy issues. I am also interested in general organised labour issues.
