پہاڑی زبان اپنی دیگر قریبی لہجوں پوٹھوہاری پہاڑی گوجری ہندکو کی طرح پندرہ سو قبل مسیح پراگرت سنسکرت جو عوام الناس میں رائج چلی آرہی ہے اور کلاسیکل سنسکرت جو قندھار ٹیکسلا یعنی موجودہ پوٹھوہار میں سرکاری طور پر رائج تھی یہ انڈس سولائیزیشن کا حصہ ہے سندھی اور گجراتی بھی صوتی حوالوں سے پراگرت سنسکرت کا حصہ ہے۔فی زمانہ یہی صوتی لہجہ آزاد کشمیر کے ضلع میرپور ،کوٹلی بھمبر اور باغ اور پیر پنجال کی پوری پٹی کے دونوں اطراف پاکستان اور بھارت کے زیر کنٹرول کشمیر کے مغربی علاقوں میں بولی جاتی ہے قدیم آبادکاروں آریہ نسل کا ہی ایک لہجہ ہیں پنجابی زبان سے ملتی جلتی ہے پنجابی زبان بولنے والا اسے سمجھ سکتا ہے اور پہاڑی زبان بولنے والا پنجابی سمجھ سکتا ہے گوجری زبان بھی اس سے ملتی جلتی ہے۔ زبان کا ماضی اِس قدر تابناک بھی رہا ہوگا۔ یہ حقیقت ہے کہ اِس زبان نے کئی دانشور، بہادر، قلم کار اور شاعر پیدا کئے۔ اِس کے بولنے والے کئی حکمرانوں نے برصغیر کے مختلف خطوں پر اپنی حکمرانی کے جوہر دکھائے۔اس زبان کے عروج کا سنہرا دور مہاراجہ اشوک سے شروع ہوتا ہے اسی نے سرکاری طور پر کلاسیکل اور آپ عوام میں رائج فراغت سنسکرت کو قندہار اور ٹیکسلا یعنی پوٹھوہار میں راہج کیا تھا بعد کے مشہور حکمران راجہ پورس کے درباروں کی زبان پہاڑی تھی۔ اِس کے علاوہ کشمیر پر جن بادشاہوں نے حکمرانی کی اُن میں سے سلطان مظفر خان، ہیبت خان، محمود خان، حسین خان، زبردست خان اور شیر احمد خان کے عہد کی سرکاری اور درباری زبان بھی پہاڑی رہی ہے۔ کشمیر کے ڈوگرا حکمرانوں کی مادری زبان بھی پہاڑی ہی تھی۔ راجہ نوید حسین (talk) 20:23, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
