Edit warring on 2010

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 2010. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing.

Note: while I agree with your reverts, it would be best to let someone else do them on that article so you don't technically violate the 3RR rule. I've also warned the other party in the dispute. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 01:32, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

No, its User:Homerjay90's fault that started an edit war. ApprenticeFan talk contribs 01:34, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
See the "note" above, after the warning. I agree with your version, but to be fair, I warned both of you. Technically, each of you are in danger of breaking 3RR, so best if you allow others to revert Homerjay's edits on that article for a while - just to be safe. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 01:36, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
OK, I'll report the abused user to WP:AN3 right now. ApprenticeFan talk contribs 01:37, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello ApprenticeFan! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 940 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Roberto Canessa - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Semiprotection of NTM articles

As you seem to be a very advanced user here, so you know how a page can be semi-prodected from editing such as the America's Next Top Model articles? I am thinking of other related articles such as Austria's Next Topmodel, Cycle 2 which are mostly the victim of heavy vandalism while the show is running. To lock those articles for semi-protection would be justified if you take a look upon the edit history. I tried to understand how the guideline works but I never found a template for this semi-protection. Can you help? Regards Shameless (talk) 16:47, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

I'm not an admin, go to WP:RFP instead. Thanks. ApprenticeFan talk contribs 23:41, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

TAR3 Map

I know I already asked you, but nothing happened since then, so... I ask you again. Leg 7 of TAR 3 was in Germany and Austria, but Austria is not highlighted in the map (maybe the route is not correct, too). Can you fix it? Thanks and sorry if I bother you again. I'd do it, if I could, but... I can't. :) --SimoneMLK (talk) 21:30, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Keenyah Hill

Hello ApprenticeFan. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Keenyah Hill, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: 2nd runner up is a bit of a push, but it's a national TV show. It's enough for A7 in my view. PROD or take to AfD if required. Thank you. GedUK  19:40, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

See here. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 21:31, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

The Amazing Race: "mobile pit stops"?

Hi, you stated in The Amazing Race had a mobile pit stop. Did the racers have any idea of where they would be taken to? If not, that statement may need to be reworded. Mylife2702 (talk) 13:50, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Actually, The Amazing Race 1 was the first season to ever have a mobile pit stop, while the racers were transported from Sahara to Gabes in Tunisia due to sandstorm and the pit stop location in Sahara was evacuated. See YouTube video of that episode around 2:50 on that video. ApprenticeFan talk contribs 14:19, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, I just needed to check whether the racers knew where they would be heading to. Since the clip didn't say anything, I'm not changing anything. Mylife2702 (talk) 14:29, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

The Amazing Race 16: Detour or Fast Forward first?

ApprenticeFan, I'm really sorry that I may have occured 3RR. But I just want to make clear that it's the detour first and we can change. "It's always been done that way" is not the reason why we can't change.Wowovr2 (talk) 10:12, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Your views may be of some use at Talk:Victoria (Australian state)#Requested move. -- Mattinbgn\talk 06:41, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Another suggestion, why you want to rename the article to Victoria (state)? because no one has been disambiguated in Australia. Thousands of readers in Wiki know that the state has one polity in the world.
Here are the disambiguated state articles:

Hidalgo in Mexico and Acre in Brazil, "Hidalgo" article is a disambiguation page. While Acre has two articles, the primary article is about a measurement and a disambiguation page. ApprenticeFan talk contribs 08:38, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Requested move of Punjab_(Pakistan)

I have requested a move of Punjab (Pakistan) to Punjab (Pakistani province). You may wish to express your opinion on the talk page.

The Amazing Race Maps

Hey ApprenticeFan, i have noticed that you have been creating the maps of The Amazing Race. However i would like to know how do you tag a country and made the color blue, any software or tools to help to make this. Cos i am trying to create a map for my own use but needed this skill, would appreciate that if you could let me know and get back to me asap. Thanks again and wonderful job. Evan Weinstein 05:25, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Its simple, you must go to MS Paint in your computer, modify the maps of Amazing Race and save it to your computer. Wikimedia commons does upload the maps to stick in global articles. ApprenticeFan work 09:02, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, but what i want to do is to make a country to be selected and colored blue. Can MS Paint do this? Evan Weinstein 09:07, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Yup. MS Paint does. The software where primarily uses to create art. ApprenticeFan work 09:09, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, but i am still stuck, would you mind showing me how you do it (list of steps). Thanks

There is an article on MS Paint. I usually created route maps since season 14. ApprenticeFan work 09:12, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, so which tool should i use. Evan Weinstein 09:16, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

You can use fill with color when you fill the destined country you want. The line uses to straight stroke to create leg 1 route where you do it from the last city in last leg to a destination city. The curve uses to curvier stroke on a same path. The pick color can use to would you pick a select color you like. Thanks for your help. ApprenticeFan work 09:34, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks once again, although it;s a little confusing, but anyway thanks. Evan Weinstein 09:52, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:51, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: America's Next Top Model, Cycle 15

Hello ApprenticeFan. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of America's Next Top Model, Cycle 15, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. Thank you. Salvio Let's talk 'bout it! 12:48, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

I have changed your Db tag on this article: WP:CSD#G5 does not apply, because that is for "Pages created by banned or blocked users in violation of their ban or block", and this article was created before the user was blocked. However, WP:CSD#A10 covers it. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:54, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Amazing Race Asia 4 Map

Hi. I would just like to add something to the map. They first flew to KL before flying to Colombo, Sri Lanka. Maybe you can edit the map so it will reflect that? You can pattern the coloring to Season 1's map if you like. Hope you get to do this. Thanks. LordBelly06 (talk) 14:39, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi, it's me again. I just want to ask you, if it's possible to edit the file you've uploaded? It would look less crowded, I supposed, if the line from the Philippines to New Zealand was edited similarly to the Amazing Race Asia 2 map (a bit more curving out to the right). Just a suggestion, which I hope you respond to. Many thanks! LordBelly06 (talk) 08:21, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Amazing Race maps

Please don't update maps 3 legs in advance. I reverted the upload at the commons and now the thumbnail won't properly update.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:47, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

OK, Gonzalochileno added a future map of File:TAREDC2.PNG including a destination in the eighth leg, I reverted it back to the last update (November 1). ApprenticeFan work 00:35, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

TAR table format

I would like your input here.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:50, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

So you are the contribtuer of TAR en Discovery Channel

So it was you after all, and i thought you help the user. Thank You. (YEEGHguanghui (talk) 13:55, 19 November 2010 (UTC))

TAR pages

Could you please talk to User talk:174.1.48.24 with me? He is angry that I changed "United States" and "United Arab Emirates" to "USA" and "UAE" in the section headers.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 02:45, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

USA redirects to "United States", while UAE also redirects to "United Arab Emirates" due to primary topic usage. Example, "EA" now redirects to Electronic Arts due to primary usage. Google search has over 704,000,000 results in USA, while only 46,700,000 searching for the "UAE" topic. In that case, most of primary usage acronyms uses as "United States" for US or USA. "The States" is colloquially used for this term. "Emirates" also a colloquially using a term in the "United Arab Emirates". ApprenticeFan work 02:54, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
That's not really what I was looking for. Basically, do you think my changes from "United States" to "USA" and "United Arab Emirates" to "UAE" in the section headers of the pages where they go to those nations is good? I've also modified the section headers for times they went to Corsica, Sicily, and Zanzibar, rather than the entirety of France, Italy, and Tanzania.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 03:06, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
They are short abbreviate terms on using USA for United States and UAE for United Arab Emirates. Corsica, Sicily and Zanzibar are the main locations and they are islands, but not dependencies. E.g., Sarawak and Sabah are part of Malaysia since the 1960s. ApprenticeFan work 03:10, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

A Memory test (The Boss is not the writer, and not me)

Can you help me do a favor? (i am a fan of TAR, but i only watched the American and Asia's version) i would like to know how the format of Leg 8 to 12 of TAReDC looks like. Since someone saw you do it (refer to the section: Your the editor), why don't you recap episode 8 first? Just recall what to do. I had the formal and the latest templates on the race. I am the mistake checker (look @ the typos etc.) Note: i am not the boss, i am just for request. The Boss is NOT ME!(Singaporeandy (talk) 01:55, 22 December 2010 (UTC))

Amazing Race Asia

Why have you changed my edit? It was right. It states "at the time of filming", the Czech Republic was not visited at the time of filming. Intoronto1125 (talk) 16:02, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

To check, between 2007 through 2009, the country was "vacated" for the filming of The Amazing Race 15. ApprenticeFan work 12:20, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
