Speedy deletion[edit]

I have tagged the two articles you contributed for speedy deletion, as they appear to be blatant advertising.Blueboy96 13:16, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Group Analytic Society, by Blueboy96, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Group Analytic Society is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Group Analytic Society, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Group Analytic Society itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 13:34, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category creation[edit]

Hi Birchmore. I have noticed that you are creating new categories, but are naming them incorrectly. Please review the naming convention policy Wikipedia:Categorization#Category_naming. Categories you named like Category:Family Therapists should read "Family therapists" because, like the policy explains, the category name involves the use of a regular noun. Only capitalize a proper noun in the name of a category, please. It will save the time of administrators who have to nominate the category for speedy renaming. Thanks! - Gilliam 07:52, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. You may also want to check out Wikipedia:WikiProject Categories.

Sorry about this, I'm a relative newcomer and need to learn the ropes. I'm not sure what I can do about this since I set up these categories with the capital letters. What can I do?

I've made some comments re: your comments & edits over at Talk:Child and adolescent psychiatry#Removal of content. Chupper 17:04, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't personally attack me. That quote you applied to me - Someone, somewhere, said that it is the easiest thing in the world to criticise and destroy, the difficult task is to create and build. is quite insulting. I've given a lot of time to Wikipedia, just no major contributions to "your" article. Take it easy. And you are accusing me of censorship again - wow. We obviously have differing opinions - thats obvious to anybody. But instead of saying I'm censoring you - what do we do? We call in a third person, or we go through a dispute resolution. But obviously I've pissed you off and its also quite obvious you have absolutely no respect for me. I guess you do think I'm here to "get you". So the article is all yours. Take down those tags if you like - I won't make any further comments on "your article". Chupper 03:37, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh dear Chupper. I was only commenting on differences of opinion and your apparent wish not to allow one pole of the argument to feature in this article. After all, I put all the material you are objecting to in the "Critics of Child Psychiatry" section, and I do suppose that we have a responsibility to give these people a voice and to represent accurately what they say. Don't you think so?

It really is no use trying to pretend that they do not exist. After all, critics are often the forces driving change and advancement in any area and challenging complacency and false assumptions.

It really is not "my article" and I would welcome you adding to it or anyone else, I was just pointing out an imbalance, additions are fine, attempting to suppress part of the whole area of knowledge and debate are not.

Oh dear Birchmore. After all, I put all the material you are objecting to in the "Critics of Child Psychiatry" section, and I do suppose that we have a responsibility to give these people a voice and to represent accurately what they say. Don't you think so? As long as that "voice" is in the majority. This is where we differ in opinion. To be blunt, I feel your opinion is in the minority, while my opinion, that child and adolescent psychiatry uses psychosocial considerations, is in the majority. Now that may be a huge conflict of interest (stating my opinion is in the majority). Hence the reason why I'm not editing it :). In addition, I do feel "criticisms" should be included, but they should be included in the proper context and be integrated into an article. You feel that criticisms of that profession are about 50% of its existence (based upon your contributions). But again, I don't want to "criticise and destroy" as its the "easiest thing in the world to [do]". Chupper 00:04, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Patrick de Mare[edit]

Hi Birchmore - you have added a lot of interesting material about de Mare but unfortunately not referenced. Someone is bound to start putting citation tags on. He deserves a worthy article and thereby deserves sound references as well. Regards Motmit (talk) 19:28, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah I see you have added some - but if you could convert them to in text citations, that would be really useful. Regards Motmit (talk) 19:30, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
