Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:YR Colleen Carlton and Lily Winters.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 08:22, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Yr_Daniel_and_Lily.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Yr_Daniel_and_Lily.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 12:45, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Colleen Carlton and Lily Winters, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Answer to your supercouple question[edit]

You stated, "We don't have many Y&R couples, do Daniel Romalotti and Lily Winters or even Michael and Lauren Baldwin make the the cut? Just asking."

To answer your question, no, those two couples are not notable enough to have their own Wikipedia articles. By Wikipedia standards, they aren't notable at all. For more information, look at Soap Operas: Notable couples. Also look at Wikipedia:Notability (fiction).
I meant to talk with you the second I saw the two fictional couple articles you created, but I got sidetracked. One of your fictional couple articles was deleted, as you already know. The other one, Daniel Romalotti and Lily Winters, will be deleted...if you cannot provide notability for that pairing.
Think about joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Soap Operas to become better versed in Wikipedia ways. We always need more help. I'll see you around. Flyer22 (talk) 19:33, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Yr Daniel and Lily.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Yr Daniel and Lily.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:34, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your redirects at RfD[edit]

If you have created a redirect that you (later) wish to have deleted, tag it with {{db-author}}. Most likely an admin will arrive soon to put the redirect out of its misery. Cheers! 147.70.242.54 (talk) 19:15, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • All are gone except the last one on the list. I didn't tag that one as it appeared that you changed your mind on that one.147.70.242.54 (talk) 02:22, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back to Fefe Dobson articles :)[edit]

Joy (Fefe Dobson album)
You may have noticed that I am working on converting ALL the Archive ref citations to the simpler format where the url's do not display on page. My concern when originally done was to protect [archive] the info. I knew that then I could always go back and improve the ref citation format later. SAME with all the Fefe Dobson pages :) —Iknow23 (talk) 19:35, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Great! I hope this is understandable also :)
You may like to participate at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (music)#Sophomore album vs. second album
I know I should have told you sooner, before I 'declared' the winner but if many want the 'other' option, it can be changed.
I became aware of this issue when I noticed another editor making this change with the Edit summary comment of "sophomore -> second as per MOS:MUSIC#Popular music."
Joy (Fefe Dobson album) currently is showing:

Joy is Canadian singer-songwriter Fefe Dobson's official sophomore studio album.

Call for Wikipedians in Residence in Africa[edit]

Hello,

I hope you are well and thriving!! WikiAfrica has just put out a call for two Wikipedians in Residence. One in Cape Town at WikiAfrica, at the Africa Centre; and the other for WikiAfrica Cameroon in Douala, at doual’art. If you are interested, please contact either Marilyn [marilyn.doualabell@doualart.org] for the WikiAfrica Cameroon call or Isla [islahf@africacentre.net] for the WikiAfrica position in Cape Town.

If you are not interested in applying, I would be very grateful if you could spread this call far and wide among your networks to ensure that both projects get excellent candidates. Here is the link for the information page: http://www.wikiafrica.net/two-wikipedians-in-residence-for-africa/

Best regards, Islahaddow

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
