Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Greybull Capital, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:31, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Greybull Capital[edit]

Hello, Geoff soper. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Greybull Capital".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Greybull Capital}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 08:32, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for Greybull Capital article[edit]

Hi Geoff soper

I just wanted to say thanks for creating the Greybull Capital article. The Articles for Creation process is, in my opinion, too critical. It sets the bar high when considering an article can be created directly in (main) space. I was able to retrieve it because Speedy deletion Wiki automatically archived it here:

Thanks Jon[edit]

Sorry can't work out how to reply properly. Many thanks again for the artificial respiration given to the dead article and the polishing done to Wikify it. I was amazed how little info there was out there on Greybull and thought a page was warranted on this dynamic company on Wikipedia. Regards Geoff 19 Apr

Hi Geoff Soper, Glad to see a new article on vessels from the Age of Sail. I have made some edits to your article and if you do other articles on other vessels you might look at what I have done. In particular, you might find some of the templates I use, particularly those for converting measurements and for referencing the London Gazette, useful. Cheers, Acad Ronin (talk) 22:55, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How do we know that "glorious" was ironic? You and I know it was a debacle, to put it politely, but are we sure that Larpent meant it ironically? Having read a number of things from that period by both British and French chroniclers, it is clear that they and we may see things differently. "The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there." Regards, Acad Ronin (talk) 19:57, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Acad, & thanks for the work making a professional job & making a proper biog of this forgotten boat. I'm no boat researcher, but a Lieut Soper may have died on it.

I seem to remember reading it has extra cannonade port squeezed in, in the UK, but are likely wrong, I'll have a look.

re 'glorious' debacle, I can see you're right, thanks. But I put that quote in, and re-reading it months later I realise that because I cropped the quote from an article, my quote offered 100% the wrong meaning. I'll look at the 'glorious' line again & either add factual content about the quote or remove it entirely. (& sorry still can't work out how to reply properly to messages like this). Regards Geoff

Hi Geoff, No worries re replying. I haven't worked out what standard etiquette is, and I've been on WP for over a decade. Great to hear that you may have had an ancestor on her. I like to think that one of the audiences I am writing for are genealogists who will be delighted when they discover that there is an article on the obscure vessel their ancestor served on.
