Non-free images

Please quit pushing to have non-free images no matter what. Wikipedia needs to be a free content encyclopedia wherever possible, so uploading non-free images should not be the crux of one's contributions, especially to film articles. While film poster images are fine, please make an effort to add informative content from secondary sources to Wikipedia articles about film. Thanks, Erik (talk | contribs) 20:07, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

So what should I do now, to let all those soundtrack/score images that I have uploaded be deleted? And also I believe that all those images are worth to be there where they are now, the same way as film posters. So, is there any way to all those images not be deleted?  InfamousPrince  20:26, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Removing the Rio soundtrack album art

See also: Rio (film) talk page section
I'm not completely satisfied by the reason you gave for removing the album art from that article. What's stranger is that your edit history shows that you've uploaded a lot of non-free pictures, which I assume were kept with good rationales because their links are still blue on your talk page. I really think those two pictures enhance the Rio (film) article. dogman15 (talk) 09:39, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:FriendsLogo.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:FriendsLogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. George Ho (talk) 12:17, 18 November 2011 (UTC)

File:UnderworldTrilogyCover.jpg

Hi. your picture File:UnderworldTrilogyCover.jpg is currently orphaned, because I've replaced the DVD cover with the franchise's logo. Sorry, it is because the cover only composed of the images of the first three films, but now that there is fourth, it makes sense that it should be a logo it its place, and avoid misleading that the Underworld series is a trilogy.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 22:15, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

The DVD of the fourth film didn't came out yet, and just like in the Pirates of the Caribbean (film series) article, there was a DVD cover of the first three films, and after the DVD of the fourth film came out it was replaced with a new version including all four films. While I personally don't have the problem with having the logo of the series, I think that there still should be a DVD cover, so I put it below the infobox.  InfamousPrince  23:23, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
I was just trying to generalize the article, just as the Back to the Future trilogy, which just used a logo.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 01:43, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Actually, I don't know how to upload files on the exiting page so I create new ones. Can you tell me?--Plea$ant 1623 11:12, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

You have "Upload a new version of this file" at the bottom of every file that has been sent. Then, after you click that you have "Source file" section and a button "Choose...". Then, after you choose a file from your PC, you click a button "Upload file", it is a at the bottom. That's all.  InfamousPrince  16:45, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject Grey's Anatomy Weekly Newsletter

WikiProject Grey's Anatomy Newsletter: The Week of June 11, 2012

Hello members of WikiProject Grey's Anatomy! We are sending out our weekly newsletter with updates about the project and tasks. First, we would like to take this time to introduce several new members to the project: Creativity97, who joined in May, Sofffie7, Smileyglen66 and InfamousPrince, who all joined in June. It is nice to be able to have more members, so as to better help out the project. We have some new achievements and updates to be announced. First, we've received four new good articles (Grey's Anatomy seasons 1-4), which were developed by Jonathan Harold Koszeghi. Second, there are three new good article nominees, awaiting reviews (Meredith Grey, Owen Hunt, and Arizona Robbins), which TRLIJC19 decided to develop. Finally, Grey's Anatomy has been rewritten and majorly expanded to comply with the Featured Article Criteria. There are plans for the article to be nominated after a peer review is completed.

There are many things to be done for the project, in an attempt to exemplify its best work. Below is a list of tasks, and guidelines:

  • Character Pages
    • Ensure that each character page has this section order:
      • LEAD (and appropriate infobox)
      • Storylines
      • Development
        • Casting and creation
        • Characterization
      • Reception
      • References
      • External links
    • Shorten character storylines, using {{Cite episode}} to reference episodes, and break down season sub-section headers into just one section, "Storylines".
    • Model pages after Owen Hunt and Meredith Grey
  • Main Page (Grey's Anatomy)
    • Keep an eye out for vandalism, as that tends to occur at that page.
  • General
    • Many users and IPs have been erasing "surgical resident" from fifth year residents characters' occupations in infoboxes and at List of Grey's Anatomy characters. This should all be held off until more info is given on their current occupation in the season premiere. Revert if you see this, and if it's persistent; warn users.

Weekly Initiative!
The weekly initiative this week, is to pick an underdeveloped character article (one that isn't GA or better), and develop it, modeling off of Owen Hunt or Meredith Grey! Search the internet for character information, and try to get the article to GA quality (using MOS and Wikipedia guidelines), then nominate it. Barnstars will be awarded to users who develop their articles to GA quality! Also, use the templates listed at the project page to recruit new members, the more the merrier! Take part in these initiatives, have fun developing an article to GA, feel proud after the article you developed reaches GA, and be rewarded with barnstars! Help make a difference and get started!

Have fun and don't forget to cite everything you write! We hope to see several new good articles, and new members, soon!

WikiProject Grey's Anatomy Newsletter: The Week of June 18, 2012

Hello members of WikiProject Grey's Anatomy! We are sending out our weekly newsletter with updates about the project and tasks. We have some new achievements and updates to be announced, a repeated recognition of last week. First, Grey's Anatomy (season 3) has been developed to apparent FA quality by Jonathan Harold Koszeghi, and TRLIJC19 is in the process of developing Callie Torres to GA quality. We are still awaiting GA reviews for Meredith, Owen, and Arizona, as well as a Peer review for Grey's Anatomy, which will be completed soon. A minor change is the re-ordering of sections on Izzie Stevens and Erica Hahn, to comply with our guidelines. There are many things to be done for the project, in an attempt to exemplify its best work. Below is a list of tasks, and guidelines:

  • Character Pages
  • Main Page (Grey's Anatomy)
    • Keep an eye out for vandalism, as that tends to occur at that page.
  • General
    • Many users and IPs have been erasing "surgical resident" from fifth year residents characters' occupations in infoboxes and at List of Grey's Anatomy characters. This should all be held off until more info is given on their current occupation in the season premiere. Revert if you see this, and if it's persistent; warn users.
    • Some IPs/Users have been changing Lexie Grey's article as well as Callie Torres, going against MOS. Revert if you see this, and try to explain to the IP/User why this is wrong.

The weekly initiative this week, is an extension of last week, and it's to pick an underdeveloped character article (one that isn't GA or better), and develop it, modeling off of Owen Hunt or Meredith Grey! WikiProject Grey's Anatomy Newsletter: The Week of June 25, 2012

Hello members of WikiProject Grey's Anatomy! We are sending out our weekly newsletter with updates about the project and tasks. We have some new achievements and updates to be announced! First, "Song Beneath the Song" is now a good article, and it was promoted by TRLIJC19. Second, Lexie Grey is currently being GA reviewed, and it was developed by TRLIJC19 and Sofffie7. Also, Portal:Grey's Anatomy has been created, and members are encouraged to maintain it. Still from last week, Meredith Grey, Arizona Robbins, Owen Hunt, and Callie Torres, (developed by TRLIJC19) are awaiting GA reviews. Grey's Anatomy (season 3) has been developed to near FA quality by Jonathan Harold Koszeghi, and is awaiting a peer review. Finally, Grey's Anatomy, developed by TRLIJC19, is on the brinks of moving to FAC, and is awaiting a final copy edit. There are many things to be done for the project, in an attempt to exemplify its best work. Below is a list of tasks, and guidelines:

  • Character Pages
  • Main Page (Grey's Anatomy)
    • Keep an eye out for vandalism, as that tends to occur at that page.

Weekly Initiative!
The weekly initiative this week, is to create an episode article, and develop it, modeling off of Song Beneath the Song! Search the internet for creation and reception information (a lot is given at the Grey Matter writers' blog), and try to get the article to GA quality (using MOS and Wikipedia guidelines), then nominate it. Try to go in an episodic chronological order (start at S1E1, and move further). Furthermore, if you notice that any user has participated in any weekly initiative and was not rewarded, give them a barnstar ASAP!

Have fun and don't forget to cite everything you write! We hope to see several new episodic good articles, and new members, soon!

Taken 2 controversy

So you'd rather continue the edit war rather than going to the talk page and discussing just so your precious poster gets used? [1]

Why is it you persist anyway? It's the same damn poster upon which i uploaded first. I guess it's because baby wants his way. Rusted AutoParts 17:09, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

I really don't care what you think, but am telling you, am not the first nor the last who's gonna go through this edit war if you continue not to just upload a file on the already existing page.  InfamousPrince  17:32, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
Nice attitude. Really helps your case. Rusted AutoParts 17:38, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
Alright, you want to know the reason why I don't want to give up? It is, as I have said before, your file is just too large, if you take a look at every poster I have uploaded before (not just my posters, every film poster), you'll see that they all are 300px or bellow, I don't know why it is like that, but it is, and sooner or later, someone will upload reduced version of the file you have uploaded, and because I already have uploaded reduced version, I have no reason to let my file be deleted if someone will upload that same file in the near future.  InfamousPrince  21:32, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
Why the hell didn't you say it was because of file size in the first place? All i got was "i don't want MY file deleted." Alright, now there's a legit reason, i'll cease. Rusted AutoParts 21:36, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
Actually, I did. It is at the very beginning, before all of this started. It looked like this: "Well, it isn't, the size of the file should be under 300px, yours is 680px. So, take a look at this: [[Wikipedia:Non-free content…".  InfamousPrince  22:03, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:TVD-The Return-Midnight.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:TVD-The Return-Midnight.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:01, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject Grey's Anatomy Newsletter: The Week of July 16, 2012

Hello members of WikiProject Grey's Anatomy! We are sending out our weekly newsletter with updates about the project and tasks. Big apologies for the lack of the newsletter for the past two weeks! We have lots of new achievements and updates to be announced! We have fifteen new good articles! This is a great achievement for the project. The articles that were promoted are Lexie Grey, which was developed by TRLIJC19 and Sofffie7, Owen Hunt, which was developed by TRLIJC19, "I Like You So Much Better When You're Naked", which was created and developed by TRLIJC19, Grey's Anatomy (season 6), which was developed by TRLIJC19, "Good Mourning", which was created and developed by TRLIJC19, Callie Torres, which was developed by TRLIJC19, Meredith Grey, which was developed by TRLIJC19, "Great Expectations", which was created and developed by Jonathan Harold Koszeghi, "I Always Feel Like Somebody's Watchin' Me", which was created and developed by TRLIJC19 (previously a DYK), "Goodbye", which was created and developed by TRLIJC19, "Time Has Come Today", which was created and developed by Jonathan Harold Koszeghi, "Time Has Come Today", which was created and developed by Jonathan Harold Koszeghi, "Wishin' and Hopin'", which was created and developed by Jonathan Harold Koszeghi, Arizona Robbins, which was developed by TRLIJC19, "Tainted Obligation", which was created and developed by TRLIJC19, and "Invasion", which was created and developed by TRLIJC19. Sadie Harris is being developed by Sofffie7 and TRLIJC19, and should be nominated for GA soon. Grey's Anatomy and Grey's Anatomy (season 3) are in the preparations for FAC. There are many things to be done for the project, in an attempt to exemplify its best work. Below is a list of tasks, and guidelines:

Tasks and Gudelines
*Character Pages

Weekly Initiative!
The weekly initiative this week is to develop a character article to GA quality, using the character guidelines above! Model your article off of a Grey's Anatomy character's page with GA status. Do it fast, because we are close to having all character articles at GA! Search the internet for casting/creation, characterization and reception information (a lot is given at the Grey Matter writers' blog), condense storylines, and try to get the article to GA quality (using MOS and Wikipedia guidelines), then nominate it. Furthermore, if you notice that any user has participated in any weekly initiative and was not rewarded, give them a barnstar ASAP!

Have fun and don't forget to cite everything you write! We hope to see several new character GAs, and new members, soon!

Hello InfamousPrince, I would like to thank you for being apart of WikiProject Grey's Anatomy! Unfortunately, you have been given semi-active status by the project, due to your inactivity for one (1) months. Your work to the project was always appreciated, being that you were a great asset. This message is to encourage you to return to the project, and help out in the tasks that need addressing. To become an active member again, all you have to do is make at least five (5) edits, to any Grey's Anatomy-related page, over the course of two (2) weeks. We miss you at the project, and hope to see you around soon! TRLIJC19 (talk) 06:01, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject Grey's Anatomy Newsletter: The Week of July 30, 2012

Hello members of WikiProject Grey's Anatomy! We are sending out our weekly newsletter with updates about the project and tasks. Big apologies for the lack of the newsletter last week! First of all, we would like to welcome a new member to the project, TBrandley; we look forward to collaborating with him. We have several new achievements and updates to be announced! We have three new good articles! The articles that were promoted are "Give Peace a Chance" (previously a DYK), which was created and developed by TRLIJC19, Sadie Harris, which was developed by Sofffie7 and TRLIJC19, and "Flight", which was developed by Sofffie7 and TRLIJC19. Grey's Anatomy and Grey's Anatomy (season 3) are in the preparations for FAC. There are many things to be done for the project, in an attempt to exemplify its best work. Weekly Initiative!
The weekly initiative this week is to develop a Grey's Anatomy-related stub or start-class article, using the relevant guidelines above! Model your article off of a Grey's Anatomy page with GA status. Use your Wikipedia skills to fix MOS inconsistencies, copyedit, add more information by researching, and remove unreferenced claims! Barnstars will be awarded to users who destub/de-start their articles, and get the quality level promoted to at least 'C' class! You can determine if an article meets the 'C' class criteria by asking for the reviewing coordinator, TRLIC19, or one of his delegates (Jonathan Harold Koszeghi and Sofffie7) to review the article. Please do not change the article's quality rating yourself; you must have it reviewed by a member of the reviewing committee. A list of stub and start class Grey's Anatomy articles can be found at the project's main page. Also, use the templates listed at the project page to recruit new members; the more the merrier! Take part in these initiatives, have fun destubbing/starting articles, feel proud after the article you cleaned up looks better, and be rewarded with barnstars! Help make a difference and get started! Furthermore, if you notice that any user has participated in any weekly initiative and was not rewarded, give them a barnstar ASAP!

Have fun, and don't forget to cite everything you write! We hope to see several expanded articles, and new members, soon!

Plainlist template

Hi there! I noticed that you removed the usage of the {{Plainlist}} template from the infobox of Only God Forgives. The documentation for {{Infobox film}} specifices that this template should be used to separate multiple entries in a single parameter. Therefore, I've restored the Plainlist templates. Cliff Smith 19:17, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Do as you wish, I've removed them because I didn't saw them anywhere else, so... There is no problemo.  InfamousPrince  19:33, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I think it's just that most people don't know that {{Plainlist}} is supposed to be used. No biggie; just wanted to let you know. Cliff Smith 19:41, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

List of GA cast members

Hi, InfamousPrince. I'm currently in the process of developing the above article to FL quality. That said, I should have put {{under construction}} at the top, but forgot to. In order to avoid edit conflicts, I ask that you not edit this page until the developing is complete. Thank you for the reference cleanup though :-) TRLIJC19 (talkcontribs) 19:16, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:American Reunion Film Poster.jpg.

Disambiguation link notification for September 17

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Fracture (2007 film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page William Arnold (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Rampart (film)

If possible, please post an image of this additional movie poster found on the following web site within the Rampart (film) article: Rampart Movie Poster Thanks for your help Mistercontributer (talk) 21:50, 18 Sept 2012

No, unfortunately, the image you gave me is, like the title within the website say, "Viral Poster". It's not a theatrical poster like the one that already exist within the article, and because of that, a new additional poster (that isn't a theatrical) will be removed by someone sooner or later, so uploading it would be pointless.  InfamousPrince  08:38, 19 September 2012 (UTC)

Title Card Homeland

Clearly you didn't understand the other talk page, so I'll post here.

The title card you're putting up there is fine, but it looks blurry and the proportions are clearly messed up. Fix it in an editor or let someone else replace it.

---Saw1998 (talk) 22:18, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

"...it looks blurry and the proportions are clearly messed up." Dude, do you listen to yourself? Every TV show article has, or should have, the same type of image, a screen capture from the opening credits showing the title of the show. It doesn't matter if the image is "blurry" or its proportions are "clearly messed up", what matters is what that image is representing.  InfamousPrince  22:42, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
I think I know what he means. In lieu of the title card, I was seeing a warped version of the logo. I had to do a Shift-Refresh to see the correct image. --SubSeven (talk) 15:20, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
