October 2013[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Tbhotch. I noticed that you made a change to an article, The New York Times, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 21:57, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Opinions vary on the NYT's affiliation (many on the left would consider the New York Times to be the voice of the Establishment, to use an old-fashioned term, and it has been criticized for focusing on the wealthy in its lifestyle coverage), and the article on the Washington Times notes that it's evolved from a strongly conservative point of view. I'm not convinced that U.S. newspapers, which tend to be less partisan than the papers of other nations, should be categorized that way at all. In any case, basing an argument on consistency with another article isn't an appropriate way to approach the issue. Please use the article talkpage to discuss your proposed edits: that's what it's there for. Acroterion (talk) 22:04, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
