Hi, Kasha.re, Welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.

Additional tips[edit]

Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

Hello,

when I restored some text which was deleted by vandals, I also deleted your contribution which you now restored again. Sorry for not giving an explanation in the edit summary why I deleted the "fact" tag; here it is:

I don't think the tag is appropriate, because here "(The Bible)" is not a citation at all. The sentence is simply a definition of the term "Apocalypse": Apocalypse is the relevation of the will of that God which is described in the bible (i.e. not the God described by the Vedas etc.) See also Apocalypse of John#Title.

--Cyfal (talk) 00:14, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see. I think it would be more helpful to simply reword the sentence, i.e., "In the Bible, the term apocalypse refers to a revelation of God's will." --'Kash (talk) 00:35, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much. Yesterday, I tried to find better phrasing for this sentence, but didn't manage it. Yours is perfect. --Cyfal (talk) 11:43, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Glad we were able to clear up that confusion. --'Kash (talk) 16:29, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:MichaelWolf-GenCon2010.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:MichaelWolf-GenCon2010.jpg, which you've sourced to Unfree Creative Commons license at http://www.flickr.com/photos/dmperez/6807609977/. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Multichill (talk) 12:07, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The photographer is a friend of a friend and intended to make the photo available for use, but I think he didn't realize the issue with labeling it noncommercial. I've sent an e-mail and am awaiting response. 'Kash (talk) 16:46, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The photo has been updated to a CC-BY license---no NC or SA restrictions. 'Kash (talk) 22:18, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
