April 2021[edit]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Tomboy, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. This is not a minor edit. See WP:MINOR. It has been contested, and per WP:BRD you should discuss it on the article's talk page rather than continuing to remove it. Meters (talk) 21:04, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My reason was valid, and the only non-minor part of my edit was that I accidentally deleted the source for the previous claim as well Lilyneee (talk) 21:31, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Further, I followed your advice and placed my thoughts on the talk page. Given that someone with similar grievances went ignored for five months or so, I will be quite pissed off if nobody bothers to respond and lets misinformation continue to reside on the article. Lilyneee (talk) 21:49, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
"You" think your reason is valid, but that has been contested. Deleting sourced content is never a minor edit, let alone when it has already been undone once. Meters (talk) 22:17, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Whatever you say, Mr. Minimod. 🙄 Lilyneee (talk) 23:34, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The IP attempted to remove it 5 months ago as "sexist" and was undone. The talk page editor made the incorrect statement that this was POV. And now you appear with new account to make virtually the same edit, with the same mistaken rationale. You wouldn't happen to be the same editor, would you?
Maybe no-one responded because everyone else was satisfied with the way the long-standing version of the article was. Your comment above doesn't strike me as that of someone particularly interested in participating in polite discussion to reach consensus. Meters (talk) 00:28, 7 April 2021 (UTC)\[reply]
I'm not. I don't even have IPv6. Multiple people can have the same grievances on something, which should be patently obvious to someone so experienced as you. I like how you insist that the current version - that actively peddles lies - is "correct". You yourself seem disinterested in any sort of productive or polite discussion, only wishing to be condescending and rude on my talk page, so maybe move out of your glass house?
Were they satisfied? Did they not bother to look at the talk page? Did they assume that multiple people expressing the same opinion would be met with this very type of response? Did they know that NPOV is dead and that it wouldn't be worth the effort to try? It's impossible to know for sure - many casual browsers may disagree with the POV presented in many articles, but not know that they are able to express these issues somewhere on-site, even if it's likely to fall on deaf ears. The concept that literally everyone who read that passage was fine with it is one that is patently absurd. Lilyneee (talk) 00:45, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on User talk:Lilyneee. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Enough Meters (talk) 01:09, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not attacking you, and you know it. In fact, I've done nothing that you haven't. Are you upset that you were cornered in a discussion? Sure sounds like it. Maybe find someone else to bully. Lilyneee (talk) 14:15, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Further, it doesn't appear that you have the proper rights to warn me, so this is intimidation and harassment. Tread carefully, as I am not unwilling to report you over this. Lilyneee (talk) 14:42, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Lilyneee, there are no special rights requirements to place a warning template on another user's talk page. If you do decide to report Meters, please keep WP:BOOMERANG in mind. Equivamp - talk 14:50, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Really? Quite curious that anyone on Wikipedia can simply drop a warning against anyone else. I feel as if that undermines the value of a warning. Lilyneee (talk) 15:15, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In some cases, warnings are more or less required to be given before reporting a user to an admin noticeboard, such as WP:ANV. It's also recommended to discuss issues directly with the user before reporting, and templates provide a simple format to remind or inform editors about policies you believe they've violated, with relevant links for now information, and possibly a warning about possible consequences, without having to manually type the same thing yourself.
