Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Unilimited247. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Keb Cuevas, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. If this note is erased without answering, that may be construed negatively. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:16, 1 May 2021 (UTC)

Information icon Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Agricultural value chain. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Please do not move or rename pages that other editors have been using also without discussing. It causes confusion. Your page move has been reverted. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:16, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

Information icon Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Talk:Agribusiness System (disambiguation), please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Please do not add article categories to talk pages. Thanks, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:51, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Agribusiness System (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. JavaHurricane 06:41, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

General advice

Hi, Unilimited247. I just wanted to stop by and try and put all this in perspective. When you see something like what has been going on in the last day, it's a sure sign that you need to slow down what you are doing. This project is about writing and maintaining an encyclopedia. It isn't a race, and there is no deadline. You've only been an active editor for just over one week. It's great that you want to contribute, but think about it: is one week really enough time to understand the ins and outs of writing an encyclopedia, let alone one as vast as Wikipedia? I can see that you are trying to improve our coverage of agribusiness and some of the people involved with it, and that's a great goal to have. However, taking an example from your recent edits, simply redirecting the names of experts on the subject to the main article on Agribusiness is not really desirable. Having them remain a red link until there is actually an article about them is a better outcome as it encourages editors to actually make new articles. That is why I deleted the redirect you created for Ray A. Goldberg. I think Goldberg almost certainly is notable by Wikipedia's standards, and should probably have an article written about him, not just a redirect to the main article on the subject he is an expert on. The page WP:PROF would seem to indicate that as one of the foremost experts in this field he is independently notable.

The point here is this: a number of people are trying to provide you with guidance and pointers to relevant guidelines and policies. You have yet to directly reply to anything said here, but it's clear you are seeing these messages because you have removed a number of them. That's fine, you are perfectly allowed to do that (although archiving is preferred) but it would be good if you actually engaged with other users, at least to clearly say that you have read and understand their concerns. This is a collaborative project, you have to be willing to speak to other users when they raise legitimate concerns about your actions. And it is in your own best interest as well, as I've said multiple people are trying to help you. You should let them. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:12, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

Echoing what Beeblebrox has written, though I appreciate your efforts to improve wikipedia's coverage of Agribusiness, your edits to the Agribusiness article include nonstandard formatting and extensive use of excerpts from other articles, which are typically avoided due to the likelihood of Wikipedia:Content forking. You may want to look through the Wikipedia:Manual of Style, and please read Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.Dialectric (talk) 11:57, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
