Adoption Program[edit]

Hello again and welcome to the adoption program!

Please take some time to think about what you would like out of this program and what you can devote to it. After you have thought about this please message me on my talk page about which areas you would like to focus on. As well, if you are completely new or you are not sure, you can let me know that and I can give you a general overview. You will get as much as you put in with this program. If you would like me to be someone that you can ask questions to every once and a while, then thats who i'll be. Yet, if you wish to be in constant contact with me and have me go over your work with you each day or so, then thats who i will be. This is your choice, just please let me know :P

Also if you could please remove the adoptee userbox from your userpage so that others know you have been adopted. If you like you can replace it with this user box:

the beginning of the learning ![edit]

Wikipedia culture... well lets see. Wikipedia is awesome, it is one of a kind ! here, hundreds of thousands of users strive to make it the best encyclopedia in the world. we look for excellent editors to help out or new ones who wish to learn. we are about being bold and making articles interesting and easy to read... at the same time we make great effort to keep an encyclopedia tone to all of our articles. we are not a social network, we are not a forum or chat room. yes you will meet great people here, but you meet them and learn from them so you can make wiki better. If you ever need help, ask! most experienced users are more then happy to give you their time, for they were once in your position. From an editors point of view make sure you read through the neutral point of view policy wiki has, what is and is not a reliable source, read the article on what wikipedia is not.

as far as templates go, check this out template messages. that is THE place to go to check out most templates wikipedia has already. here you can browse what other people have done, check out their code and pick and choose what you like.

style... as far as style goes... read the wikipedia manual of style, this is a MUST READ for all wikipedia editors. this tells you what is standard uses in articles so that you can go to any page and know the format instantly, instead of having each and every writer do their own thing...

A subpage is page linked under a main topic. to make your own subpage, simple write out a wiki link like User:Zenazn/testpage and then click on it and create that page!!! now you have your own area to test out your new knowledge.

take some time and read through some of the material, let me know if you have any questions... and now you can create your new subpage and start coping templates over and editing them... and testing all the colors and fonts you can think of.

if you like i can give you some projects to do to test out your skills (like making specific tables... charts... templates)

Just wanted to let you know a brought in an awesome adopter to help you out as well!!! this way you have twice as many people to always help you out. To make it easy for you, only post questions on his talk page and i'll check that. the other adopter is Harebag. He will be able to answer most any question, and i'll be here to help look over your edits and review any work you would like us to look at. i figure the more people you have checking your work out the faster you can learn and grow! if you have any questions just let Harebag know and he'll be more then happy to get back to you. ay buddy, i guess just so they can go through the history and see what changes have been made at a quick glance instead of having to view each persons contribution to the page. if you could simply be like "discussed changes" or something to make them happy. its good practice to always use edit summaries through wiki. dont let them bother you too much, but you should include a summary. it'll only take like .3 seconds. let me know if they give you too much of a problem or if you have any other questions.
