Summer scholarship students[edit]
From November 2023 to February 2024, Auckland War Memorial Museum, Tāmaki Paenga Hira is hosting four summer scholarship students, in partnership with the Wikimedia Foundation. Check out our project here!
Regular Wikipedia meetups[edit]
From April 2022, Auckland Museum resumed regular meetups for the Wikimedia community in the Auckland Region. From May 2022, the events have been held in person.
Auckland Museum lockdown 2.0 project[edit]
The Auckland Museum Lockdown 2.0 Work was a project during the late 2021 lockdowns in Auckland, where museum staff worked on developing pages, image tagging for Wikidata, and uploading requested images.
WikiCon Aotearoa/Auckland 2021[edit]
Auckland Museum hosted New Zealand's second Wikimedia conference, from 16 to 18 July 2021. The theme of this WikiCon is Outreach to the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) Sector and Inclusion.
2021 GLAM/Wikimedia integration event[edit]
On 21 May 2021, Auckland Museum hosted an in-person professional development event at Hatchbox, on how GLAM sector institutions can integrate institutional content with Wikimedia.
2021 International Women's Day edit-a-thon[edit]
Auckland Museum hosted an in-person and virtual event on 1 May 2021, a delayed celebration of International Women's Day.
