Alina Luz Akselrad (born September 22, 1998) is an Argentine model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Argentina 2020 and represented her country at the Miss Universe 2020 pageant. She will represent her country at Miss Charm 2024.[1][2][3][4]
Personal life[edit]
Alina Luz Akselrad born into a Jewish family, she is the second child of three sisters. Her parents are Daniel Akselrad, an accountant, and Silvia Toraño, a broadcaster, also passionate about the real estate business. She studied at San Patricio Bilingual School in Cordoba. From an early age, she faced bullying for not conforming to conventional beauty standards, which later led her to campaign for mental health in children and adolescents.
She created the project "Grab Your Strength", a project that promotes actions related to personality development, understanding of current issues, building social commitment from time to time. childhood and awarded to those who, faced with adversity in life, learned how to overcome and overcome difficulties.[5]
She attended her first local festival when she was 16 years old. The first victory was as regional queen of the Milk Glass Civil Association, which works to eradicate malnutrition in children. Then other recognitions came such as the National Fruit and Vegetable Queen activities at Colonia Caroya in 2016, Miss Sudamérica 2017 and finally Miss Tourism World in 2018.[6]

Miss Universe Argentina 2019 and 2020[edit]
In 2019, she was chosen as one of the contestants to compete for the title of Miss Universe Argentina 2019, the competition that year changed franchises and was bought by Osmel Sousa. That year she was among the top 7 finalists.
In 2020, she was officially crowned Miss Universe Argentina and represented the country at Miss Universe 2020.[7]
Miss Universe 2020[edit]
She represented Argentina and entered the top 21 finalists.[4]
Miss Grand Argentina 2021[edit]
In 2021, after participating in Miss Universe 2020 held in Florida, a few months later she was appointed Miss Grand Argentina, a few weeks later she gave up the title due to pageant management issues.[8]
Miss Charm 2024[edit]
She was appointed Miss Charm Argentina 2024 and will represent the country at Miss Charm 2024 held in Vietnam.
