Matías Ezequiel Zaldivia (born January 22, 1991) is a football defender currently playing for Chilean Primera División team Universidad de Chile. Born in Argentina, he plays for the Chile national team.

Club career[edit]

Zaldivia made his professional debut for Chacarita Juniors in 2010.^[1]

After taking part in a training microcycle of the Chile squad at under-23 level,^[2] he made his international debut in the friendly match against Cuba on 11 June 2023.^[3]

He was called up to the Chile under-23 squad for the 2023 Pan American Games as an overage player alongside Brayan Cortés and César Fuentes,^[4] where Chile won the silver medal.^[5]

In December 2021, he acquired the Chilean nationality by residence along with his colleague Diego Buonanotte,^[6] keeping the Argentine nationality.^[7]
