Who is the new longest losing I-A streak?[edit]

Duke has lost to FSU 15 straight. Are there any worse than that? Kentucky has lost 19 straight to Florida and 21 straight to Tennessee. I guess you gotta look at conference doormats and powerhouses 'cause it's someone that has to be consistently bad and someone consistently good. --Excaliburhorn 18:59, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As a long-suffering Kentucky fan and alum, I can tell you that Kentucky has the TWO longest losing streaks to an annual opponent in Division I FBS. The count is now 22 straight to Tennessee, with the teams to play on November 24, and 21 to Florida (after Florida won again this season). See page 112 of the Official 2007 NCAA Division I Football Records Book, specifically under "Most Consecutive Wins Over a Major Opponent in an Uninterrupted Series". There is an article about this that someone made (it's more of a list), but it is Most consecutive wins over one opponent (NCAA football). It has only one source and I don't think it is fully updated with Kentucky's loss to Florida, but it shows the top 14 longest losing streaks (a rather arbitrary number I'd say, but I think someone wanted to get to Florida over Kentucky). I'm not sure if that article is actually needed, but maybe with the press gotten from this it could be expanded greatly. Phydend 16:18, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
