This article is a bit too wordy for me, which is why I've added the {{essay-entry}} template. See A1 and A66 for good examples of how a roads article should be laid out, and not simply a narrative of all its waypoints, which is not useful for an encyclopedia. Also, without wishing to be picky (as if), doesn't having a section headed 'Improvements' rather violate NPOV? This is often a weasel word meaning widening, or otherwise increasing the capacity or speed of a road. One person's road improvement is another's environmental outrage. Even within the narrow focus of improving the road as a road, improvements for one class of user (eg creating a bus lane) may have a downside for other users. Pterre (talk) 14:14, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Not sure what else to use as a title to reflect the collection of works that the HA advertise as improvements; given they might not always be roadworks (in the case of the study that's going on at the moment). The section itself seems valid, as it states what is being done to the route (it works better on the A14 road (Great Britain) article, where safety improvements are being made in various parts of the route). -- Ratarsed (talk) 14:26, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Dunno, don't we have a policy? 'Proposed works', 'Planned widening', 'Planned safety measures', 'Current works' etc (as appropriate) would sound more neutral. Pterre (talk) 15:04, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Norfolk

Current OS maps show the A12 crossing Breydon Bridge to terminate at the roundabout at the northern end with the A47 and A149. This disagrees with Google maps which shows Breydon Bridge as the A47, with the A12 crossing Haven Bridge and continuing up Northgate St and Caister Road where it joins the A149. Can anyone confirm which is correct on the ground? Pterre (talk) 11:21, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Highways Agency says that Breydon Bridge is A12 [1] (as of 2005); so I would trust Ordnance Survey over any other mapping agency on this one. -- Ratarsed (talk) 12:54, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

'the A12 is close to motorway standard for its whole length in Essex.'

I would seriously doubt this. It seems like a blatant contradiction to the lead. Also shouldn't the detailed route section come before the Incidents and Proposed Improvements sections. Regards, FM talk to me | show contributions ]  10:53, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
