The information on recordings is highly selective of his recordings, focusing on Boston (not hard to guess that it's someone in that area who added it). It disrupts the flow, and given how huge his discography is, I suggest its removal, or at least placement in a separate section. Any thoughts? Thanks, DJRafe (talk) 04:49, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fully agree, this selection is ridiculous. There is a complete discography of commercial recordings up to 1987: http://www.dutchdivas.net/dirigenten/bernard_haitink03.html Adding this to the Weblinks and removing the few 1990s recordings would be much more informative. I'm unconvinced we need an infobox on conductor articles (very few others do), but assuming we do: the term "associated acts" is not appropriate for classical music. The term "act" is not used in classical music the way it is in popular music. If we need this infobox at all, this needs to be fixed to something like "associated ensembles" or similar. We refer in the lead to "Bernard Johan Herman Haitink CH KBE". I think it would be in accordance with MOS:POSTNOM to delete the postnominals. They were honorary awards, and Haitink was not a British citizen. We don't refer in our leads to "Ronald Reagan, GBE", or "François Hollande, GCB", or "Riccardo Muti, KBE", and similarly I don't think we should mention Haitink's honorary British gongs in his lead.
