POV[edit]

The article lacks a neutral point of view. For example, what are sentences like

  • an artistic jack-of-all-trades and master of none, who would always be very hard to categorize.
  • The life of Schoepen is also a lucky bag of funny and colourful anecdotes
  • ... who was looking for local talent. Right away he recognized a promising performer ...
  • Apart from British artists, he is the first European (he was the first European but not really?)

doing in this article? The introduction (before the table of contents) also contains quite a few laudatory words. Compare it to the intro of the Elvis Presley article which contains a sufficient number of laudatory words (not too many, not too few, even considering that Elvis is an artist of greater cultural impact).

The only negative/difficult things in Bobbejaan's life are summarized in four sentences (one in the Beginning of career, three in Remarkable changes) and the sentence after that kicks in by saying Apparently there was no stopping him. The article does not significantly discuss the difficulties and problems which he surely must've experienced (e.g., what kind of operation/medical problem(s) caused him to lose his whistle, what songs, possibly unmentioned in the current article, didn't become a success, etc). - Simeon87 14:29, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Add The song was perceived as being anti-German, provoking a few Nazis who were present at the show to take him away. Except that "Nazi" is a political-polemical acronym, you don't refer to soldiers or policemen by their ruling political party. 41.150.175.139 (talk) 22:39, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page[edit]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
