Names[edit]

Why did you remove Tank Mulligan and Tank Rotundo from his names? WTF? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sacherman (talkcontribs) 20:15, September 1, 2010

I removed them because the source you added did not verify them - you used the source named OWOW. This makes no mention of either "Tank Mulligan" or "Tank Rotundo". If you'd like to provide a source that actually does support that he used those names then by all means add them in. ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 06:29, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen these names here: http://www.cagematch.de/?id=2&nr=7659&view=gimmicks#gimmicks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sacherman (talkcontribs) 12:34, September 4, 2010

Cagematch isn't a reliable source. ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 06:18, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Like his brother, he has too many ring names. I think that we have to name the article as Windham Rotunda, because he wrestled a lot as Duke Rotundo, now he is Bray Wyatt and Husky Harris is dead (it's like Ryan Reeves, he spent one year as Skip Sheffield, but now he is Ryback.--HHH Pedrigree (talk) 18:01, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • When I saw Wyatt Family debut on Raw at the first time , I thought that Bray Wyatt was Husky Harris. However, I did some research and I found out that Bray Wyatt's Tattoos on his arms are different to Husky Harris's. Is Husky Harris Bray Wyatt? -- MilanoCollection (talk) 12:13, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Firefly Fun House section[edit]

Recently someone added a scene by scene recap of the last two promos hyping Wyatt's new gimmick. The deep explanations fall under WP:TRIVIA and WP:FANCRUFT. Stuff like what's written on his gloves and the names of his "friends", is intricate detail that doesn't belong. Per WP:BRD, the article should stay in its previous form and discussion should happen here. Looking forward to comments from others. StaticVapor message me! 00:56, 2 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Fiend[edit]

I don't think mentioning "Fiend" as a ringname of Bray Wyatt is correct. It is similar to the "Demon" character of Finn Balor, that is just a gimmick. Even WWE.com link calls him "Bray Wyatt", but at the same time displays images related to his "Fiend" gimmick.[1] STATicVapor would you weigh in? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:02, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Fiend deserves a mention in the lead considering how significant the gimmick change is. If they don't introduce him as "The Fiend" (without the Bray Wyatt) then it shouldn't be mentioned in the ring names in the infobox. StaticVapor message me! 03:28, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm totally OK with the current lead sentence, "..he performs on the Raw brand under the ring name Bray Wyatt and his masked alter-ego The Fiend", but "Fiend" should not be mentioned in the infobox as per the lead and the WWE.com link. It might be possible in future, he be called the "Fiend" without the Bray Wyatt, similar to how The Rock was briefly called as "The Rock" Rocky Maivia by the commentators (if I remember correctly). - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:44, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Well, at SummerSlam, the name graphic just simply said "The Fiend" without Bray Wyatt [2] --JDC808 01:29, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Did they announce him as "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt or just "The Fiend"? I have yet to watch SS. StaticVapor message me! 07:40, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, an announcement video is necessary. IMO, we need to see what the commentators say about him too. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:58, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
STATicVapor, they didn't announce anything for his entrance. Fylindfotberserk, the commentators called him The Fiend throughout the SummerSlam match. Michael Cole actually said "the in-ring debut of The Fiend" after the bell rung. There were only two instances that they said Bray's name. The first was when he went for Sister Abigail and Michael Cole said "Shades of the old Bray as he went for Sister Abigail". Corey Graves mentioned "Bray Wyatt" once when comparing him to The Undertaker after the match. --JDC808 01:33, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Since they mentioned "Bray Wyatt", I believe time hasn't come to consider "Fiend" as a separate ring-name in the Infobox. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:18, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
His name graphic for his entrance at Hell in a Cell (2019) said "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt. --JDC808 04:41, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If "the Fiend" is mentioned along with Bray Wyatt, then we should not consider "The Fiend" as a separate ring name. WWE.com still uses 'Bray Wyatt' only. Pinging @STATicVapor, Galatz, and Lee Vilenski: -- Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:31, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I always think we should go by how they are introduced. If the ring announcer says "Woken" Matt Hardy than the event page should too. If he is introduced as "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt we should also - Galatz גאליץשיחה Talk 18:58, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I meant in the infobox only, recently added by JDC808 here. Even if "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt is OK in the infobox, two separate bold entries, "Bray Wyatt" and "The Fiend" is simply not IMO [3]. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:29, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Fiend Image[edit]

Since Bray has heavily Changed his attire for the foreseeable future I think there needs to be a new image in his info box. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajoe d-bry (talkcontribs) 18:29, 27 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Ajoe d-bry: I see where your coming from. However, he still does appear unmasked as Bray Wyatt and this article is about the person not the kayfabe character. StaticVapor message me! 19:30, 27 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If someone can get one, it would be great to get an image of The Fiend to put down in the 2019–present section. --JDC808 04:39, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The image used on the article has been nominated for deletion. It cannot stay. U1 quattro TALK 16:54, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This is an image taken from WWE.com which would require written permission from them for it's free use. It should be removed. U1 quattro TALK 05:35, 20 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't necessarily require written permission if it has the proper fair-use rationale. The big thing here is that a free version is possible to get, we just need someone at one of the events to actually get a picture of Wyatt as The Fiend, as well as his show host character (as it's different from his old cult leader character). --JDC808 21:47, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that official website images have fair use rationale. Even if they do, the WWE was not notified nor consented with when this image was uploaded to commons. Yes we would need someone to take photo of him as the Feind. But the timeline and willingness of someone to do that is unknown at this point. U1 quattro TALK 05:15, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Official website images do have fair-use rationales (those are the images we use for all of WWE's championships and logos). These types of images should be used minimally and no more than I believe it's 2 are to be used on articles (though some cases can be made to have one or two more). However, that's for images uploaded directly to Wikipedia, not commons. That image, nor any official image, should not be uploaded to commons. Commons is for free-use images. But we should only use official website images when there are no free alternatives (which technically is currently the case for The Fiend character) or when a free version cannot be adequately made. --JDC808 23:12, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Can we collapse the Wrestling Observer section in "Championships and accomplishments"?[edit]

The appalling Dave Meltzer (and his vile lackey Bryan Alvarez) had a years-long hard-on for ridiculing and condemning Bray Wyatt, as any avid wrestling fan knows. Having all those "worst" awards listed in the page of a guy who died tragically, in the prime of his life, is pretty disgusting looking. Can we collapse the list so that people can read the relentless attacks of the execrable Meltzer only if they're actually interested in what he has to say (which I doubt many are)? No and there's already a thread about this above, #Can we collapse the Wrestling Observer section in "Championships and accomplishments"?.LM2000 (talk) 15:24, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No. Even if Wyatt's death was a shock and hard to hear, every other article in Wikipedia includes these "awards". Some of them were given 6 years ago. Also, Meltzer didn't give the awards, the reades did. I would only remove them if Meltzer retires the awards, like Bruce Willis with the Razzie. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 10:48, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
well, every other article should have their WON section removed as well. Meltzer has proven himself an unreliable critic since his his infatuation with the Elite, and his star ratings are now considered meaningless. 134.41.214.166 (talk) 14:12, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Death details[edit]

I just read that TMZ Sports released the following details. Bray Wyatt told Jojo he was going to take a nap. His alarm went off for an hour and JoJo found him not breathing turned blue medical responders were called and found that he was not wearing his heart defibrillator. He was advice to wear it following a previous medical appointment and it was found inside his car he had a weak lower heart part. Here is TMZ source, other sources have reported such as the NY Post incase TMZ is not reliable on wikipedia. https://www.tmz.com/2023/08/28/wwe-bray-wyatt-not-wearing-heart-defibrillator-time-of-death/ 47.203.51.82 (talk) 02:25, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
