Ramona LisaCaroline Polachek – The current name, Ramona Lisa, is Carolina Polachek's musical alias and not her true birth name. The overall page about Caroline Polachek's musical career should be aptly titled with her real name, Caroline Polachek. A Caroline Polachek Wikipedia page does exist; however, it automatically reroutes to be the Ramona Lisa page when it should be the other way around. Ramona Lisa information should definitely be within Caroline Polachek's page but as a section or subsection rather than the title of the entire page. Survey[edit]

Feel free to state your position on the renaming proposal by beginning a new line in this section with *'''Support''' or *'''Oppose''', then sign your comment with ~~~~. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's policy on article titles.
  • Oppose for now, per WP:STAGENAME. She adopted the pseudonym at the begining of her solo career, and it's the name under which her album was released. So, she is listed as Ramona Lisa at iTunes, AllMusic, Spotify, etc. We might consider renaming the article if, for example, she releases her next record as Caroline Polachek. — Mayast (talk) 17:17, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose there are numerous artists that are listed under their stage name, Lady Gaga, Madonna (entertainer), Snoop Dogg, LL Cool J, 50 Cent, Eminem, and many more. Wikipedia does not take the position than birth names take precedence over common names. If she later uses her birth name professionally we can change it then.--70.49.80.26 (talk) 22:05, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support as Polachek is credited under her birth name as a producer, songwriter, and guest vocalist on numerous other projects (Beyoncé, Washed Out, Blood Orange, Delorean, Sebastian Blanck) dating before her solo work as Ramona Lisa. (See AllMusic). I think this should be handled like Dev Hynes and Blood Orange, where Blood Orange is listed as a section in a career of an otherwise prolific songwriter, producer, and artist. • I'm not sure if I support the move, but I'm leaning towards yes. (The rationale given in the move request strikes me as insufficient, but I think an article about Polachek probably could have been written last year and, for the moment at least, she's more notable as "Caroline Polachek" than "Ramona Lisa".) But you created this page, yes? I'm interested in why you created it under her stage name but now support a move. -- Irn (talk) 16:47, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Note: When it comes to AllMusic, we have one page for Ramona Lisa and one for Caroline Polachek. As you can see, her profile as Ramona Lisa consists of a biography, credits, discography, etc., while her profile as Polachek has only credits. I would say that the first one is more complete. — Mayast (talk) 17:58, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Irn! If you look back to the edit history of the page, the article I created before the album came out was about the Ramona Lisa project rather than Polachek. As other editors have continued to expand on the page and Polachek has done more interviews after the album release, I think it's become more clear that Ramona Lisa is part of a conversation regarding Polachek, rather than the other way around. -- Emilywaf (talk) 23:07, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Per Emilywaf and WP:STAGENAME: "The name used most often to refer to a person in reliable sources is generally the one that should be used as the article title". All of the references in the article refer to her as Polachek, and a quick look at the first eight results when searching for album reviews shows near-unanimity in referring to her as Polachek.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] -- Irn (talk) 23:54, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. The stage name covers only part of her work, while the birth name covers it all, and she'd still be notable without any of the work done under the stage name. The article covers all of her work, so the more general name is the better. I also think the two oppose votes above have evaluated only the rationale, which is weak, rather than the evidence presented by the later support votes; Even without my scope argument, the move would be justified in terms of the whole of the evidence.
