Sentence fragment[edit]

The article contains the sentence fragment "After his brother's (Samuel Washington) death in 1781."

It doesn't appear to be referring to the previosu sentence and it's the last line of the paragraph. Can anyone figure out what the writer's intent was? MK2 (talk) 01:47, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it was an attempt to indicate (mistakenly) that Charles married his brother's widow. Samuel was also married to a Mildred Thornton, but historical thought has it that the two Mildreds were cousins.
The line should be deleted for grammar and (lack of) factual reasons. Swango (talk) 04:14, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questionable Rootsweb reference[edit]

Not that we consider Rootsweb to be a reliable source anyway, but I could not find any evidence of a "Leetown Resolve". Furthermore, if Internet Archive is any indication, that material was added to the RootsWeb page after it was added to this article by an IP editor. I've deleted all the material added in that edit since I suspect it to be a hoax. Seyasirt (talk) 22:46, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
