Nickname[edit]

An IP editor recently added a link to this article to the Touchdown Jesus disambiguation page, however, this nickname is not even mentioned here, much less cited. After a quick search, I've seen lots of blog and internet forum postings using this nickname, but no reliable sources. Given that, I'm removing it from the disambiguation page. If this nickname is legitimate and in wide use, please mention it in the article, cite a reliable source, and re-add it to the disambiguation page. Thanks, cmadler (talk) 12:41, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This was certainly his nickname and was widely used. But I have never found a reliable source. "Everyone" agrees that it's because of his resemblance to the general appearance of Jesus of Nazareth as portrayed in media, and the fact that he was a career backup and thus "carried the clipboard" but I would never add it to the article without a good reference, but the article sorely needs the explanation and I hope someone finds it and adds it. 2600:1004:B129:4EBB:D8C7:FAE5:F36C:4CA1 (talk) 02:49, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
