Untitled[edit]

He is not a Major League Baseball player for any team. He is not even a minor league baseball player yet. What are you thinking? He hasn't signed. He definitely hasn't reached the majors. Ekillian 05:20, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why did someone revert my edit? He's not a major league pitcher. Ekillian 08:14, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How about instead of NO information we put in SOME information? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.65.12.26 (talk) 21:52, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So fix it. Esrever (klaT) 23:49, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

About the scouting report... The wiki article claims Price throws between 94-97 mph, topping at 99 mph; however, the citation contradicts what's written. The citation says 90-94 mph, topping at 95 mph. Until I get clarification, I'll change it according to the citation. 64.91.136.63 (talk) 14:00, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This link states that he's thrown at least 97- http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080706/SPORTS04/807070327/1036/RSS020602 Wpride33 (talk) 15:43, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

minor leagues[edit]

No mention that he is currently a minor league player after a rough spring training? He's definitely not a starting pitcher at the moment despite what the article says. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.44.228.230 (talk) 02:30, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So fix it. Esrever (klaT) 03:20, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sentence is incomplete. doesn't make sense = something deleted?[edit]

Traded to Detroit Tigers[edit]

Mushugubu, stop the reverting, just ask for the cite, [1] MMetro (talk) 19:57, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

1. FoX Sports Detroit, broadcasting a Detroit Tigers game, announced that the Tigers had acquired David Price.

2. The Detroit Tigers removed outfielder Austin Jackson during an inning for reasons not related to an injury, just a few minutes after the announcement of the deal. Jackson is somehow part of the deal.

I do not have the details yet, as I am watching the game.

Rumors from a sports journalist are infamously unreliable sources [[1]]. [2] What is announced on a sports broadcast of the team in question seems reliable unless a mistake because such is very close to the policy of the team. Pbrower2a (talk) 20:14, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It took until about now for reliable sources to come out. And, nobody was sourcing anything in the article. As these reports can often be false (see Byrd, Marlon), we need proper sources beyond tweets. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:36, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

David Price (baseball)David Price – notability compared to others w/ the name – WNYY98 (talk) 23:22, 3 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 04:45, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • But how dominant is he over the 20 other David Price's, and if so, how long will he remain so? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 04:45, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment this is in effect a multimove request. The nominator displaced the disambiguation page away from "David Price", so should this fail, the disambiguation page should return to its prior location at the base name. -- 65.94.171.225 (talk) 05:19, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose clearly not. Significant military and political figures have this name -- 65.94.171.225 (talk) 05:19, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • @WNYY98:, can you provide any evidence that this David Price is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the name "David Price"? – Muboshgu (talk) 15:28, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose He is not the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC in terms of usage, as he's not overwhelmingly more prominent than everyone else of this name, especially considering that there's a congressman of the same name. He's clearly not the primary topic with respect to long-term significance, the other criterion. I've requested that the undiscussed move of the dab page be reverted; if this discussion results in this page being moved, the disambiguation can be moved again. —innotata 21:14, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose due to absence of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Zarcadia (talk) 16:16, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose At first I thought I could be convinced of this, but first I'd need to be convinced of this. Opposing due to a complete lack of evidence, onus of which is on the nominator to provide. I pinged three days ago. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:55, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Far too common a name for this chap to be primary. Remember that most of us outside North America know nothing about baseball or its players. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:31, 8 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

David Price officially traded to Toronto Blue Jays http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/13346369/detroit-tigers-trade-david-price-toronto-blue-jays 134.192.250.69 (talk) 17:10, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. The only sources that count as "official" for trades are the teams involved in the trades, and neither the Jays nor Tigers have made an official announcement about it. --A guy saved by Jesus (talk) 17:14, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Let's not have another Wilmer Flores situation happen now. Everyone said the Gomez trade was "confirmed" until it fell apart. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:17, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This deal has officially been announced by both teams on the team twitter feeds so its ok to update now. Spanneraol (talk) 17:53, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

David Price signs for Boston Red Sox[edit]

The McCovey Chronicles bloggers aren't noting that the deal has been agreed to, but not officially completed. Deals like this fall through often enough that they cannot be taken for granted. Just ask Grant Balfour and Wilmer Flores. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:29, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
