Popularity[edit]

This article states that van Noten fell out of favor during the early 1990s. Though that may have been true in places like New York (a New York Times article is a cited reference), he was enormously popular during that period in Los Angeles. Clothing boutiques Fred Segal on Melrose, and Maxfield's carried a significantly high volume of both the men's and women's lines. Fred Segal, in fact, had an entire room devoted to van Noten in the men's section. These statements can be confirmed by contacting representatives from either boutique. I feel it's worth adding this talking point simply because his popularity and influence in Los Angeles was so significant at that time, and it directly contradicts the article's statement. 74.8.17.24 (talk) 19:03, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
