Oakland Raiders claim[edit]

According to the Raiders website and http://www.pro-football-reference.com no player named Dwayne Armstrong played in the 1992, 1993 or 1994 NFL seasons. The only source for this claim seems to have been in reporting by Australian media. Hack (talk) 04:52, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore, a Google News archives search ([1]) finds no mention of Armstrong after his Iowa State career. Certainly, had he been on an NFL roster, his name would have been in the papers. I'm going to remove the section. -- Mwalcoff (talk) 00:56, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Subject not notable[edit]

The subject appears to be one of over million individuals who played American college football. Three of the references are dead links and the other two references do not mention the subject at all. A google search yields no information on subject other than he lettered 2 years at college and this article. Based on the aforementioned, this article was nominated for speedy deletion on September 20, 2016 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cbs527 (talkcontribs) 03:30, 21 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

He's certainly not notable based on his college career (nowhere near meeting WP:NCOLLATH), but his stint on an AFL list (even if it was just a publicity stunt) would probably have been enough to get more than a few non-trivial mentions in Australian newspapers. I generally find it difficult to find information online about the early 1990s (sport-related or otherwise), but I'll see if I can find some better sources.
