Two Questions[edit]

Should it not be Eddy Current Suppression Ring are a band, not is?

Whether it's a group or a band, either is a singular entity describing a number of individuals, so I think it's "is". If it was "the members of", then "are" would be correct I believe. Murtoa (talk) 12:36, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Although I disagree with your view, I accept it for the purposes of this article. You might however wish to consult a number of wikipedia articles on bands which have been declared 'feature-article' standard. You will see that the grammar varies between your and my view, although mine would appear to be more prominent. This should be sufficient to stop you reverting my corrections of other articles, which you may have noticed were substantially poorer in quality prior to my edit. My 2c worth: it may be an Australian English thing. I've had the belief (maybe incorrectly) that bands/groups/ensembles are treated as noun plurals. For most of the Australian band articles that I've started I use the phrase "XXXX are an Australian..." or similar, rather than "XXXX is an Australian..."shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 09:15, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Does one good review constitute "critical acclaim"? Protea Ave (talk) 10:17, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was a critic and it was acclaim, but yes it was just one review. So I've added this one Murtoa (talk) 12:36, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've added two reivews from AllMusic (one on the band, another on the album), which both acclaim this album.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 09:15, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment comment[edit]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Eddy Current Suppression Ring/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

C-class: reasonable info & infobox supplied (more record labels available from article); has some: in-line refs but needs more (current ones fixed too e.g. for first ref, add in: last=Donovan |first=Patrick | publisher=The Age then do similar for others where applicable), wikify "Singles titles"; (aside: are Eddy and Danny actually brothers or is it just the band name thing?), expanded discussion (short sentence paragraphs can be combined); and sectns (including a summarising Lead) could bring it to B-class;Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 22:03, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
