What year did the company close?[edit]

The article says both 1990 and 1993. Applegamer 19:07, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've been looking this up. It appears they filed for chapter 11 in 1989, but did not finally close until some time later. That time appears to be both 1991 and 1993, depending on source. I was there at the time and it wasn't "a lot of directions", it was committing the company to the hot new wave "VCR Games" that was a complete flop. I, RG Goudy, programmer of the communication software for "handy" was there. It was so secret and it had the industry so scared that the GameBoy was rushed into production by the Japanese to try and beat us to the punch. I recall the hardware guy (don't recall his name tho) saying "I don't care what anybody says, no video game needs sound!" My last day was August 1, 1989.

Searched the internet and I find it curious that there is NO mention of Epyx having anything to do with VCR Games. If I wasn't there, I'd doubt it ever happened.

someone should contact RJ Micals, he headed the Handy project and quit a month after myself.

Of course, He thought the Amiga was the wave of the future and ALL of Handy's development was done on these.

Not only games[edit]

List of products[edit]

I changed the list of products into three tables (games, other software, hardware). I included an alphabetical table of contents for the list of games since it is so extensive. I didn't realize at the time that including that would remove the article's main table of contents (so now it has none). This got me thinking, should we just link to List of Epyx products (an article that hasn't been created yet) and get rid of the tables altogether? After all, most video game publishers have articles which are just a list of their games (List of Electronic Arts games, List of Activision games, List of Strategic Simulations, Inc. games).
