Style[edit]

The style of this article seems unduly negative and not WP:NPOV. Ronson is well known as a businessman and a philanthropis. He was knighted (made a 'Sir', UK) in the last few days and was a well-known businessman long before he received a criminal conviction. That conviction, which itself was over 30 years ago old (this means that in the UK it is long 'spent; i.e. reporting and/or use of knowledge of the conviction are limited under civil law), led to him doing his time in prison (6 months) then getting on with a productive and charitable life. Some sentences in the article seem wrong to me; e.g. he got a CBE (a UK decoration) "notwithstanding" his offences. In my opinion, the first paragraph in particular is too judgemental and makes his conviction too prominent. I think I will edit it a little bit. I am leaving this comment as advised by other Wikipedians before I actually do any edits. Charlie Campbell 28 (talk) 22:50, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've edited after putting my thoughts above. Charlie Campbell 28 (talk) 17:27, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Charlie Campbell 28 - As a drive-by comment, I think your edits are very fair. His conviction should be in the lead, but so should his CBE in 2012 and his knighthood in 2024. They are highly notable, not least because you have to do quite a lot of good stuff to pick up two gongs after a criminal conviction for fraud. KJP1 (talk) 12:27, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
