Bias[edit]

Gotham Comedy Club subject page exists I would like to make this article as non-biased as possible. I have deleted the link to the Gotham Comedy Club website which I believe could have created a conflict of interest. Although I am an employee of the club, I believe that the club has played an important role in the stand-up comedy community of New York City and the world. If there are any suggestions or changes that would make this article more neutral, please let me know. Gothamcomedy (talk) 17:36, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To begin with, look over our guidelines for editing with a conflict of interest. Also understand that the subject of this article has to pass our general notability guideline or the notability guideline for companies. This is done by showing coverage of this club within multiple, independant reliable sources. This is in addition to our policy on verifiability in which most everything should be cited if its contentious. For example, in the first sentence the club is described as "famous". This needs to be referenced with a third-party source calling it famous. See citing sources for information about how to do this. If this article passes the notability guideline, is adequately sourced, and contains neutral wording; it will be good to go. ThemFromSpace 20:05, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I almost deleted this per WP:SPAM and WP:COI, but I think there might be an article in here somewhere beneath the promotionalism, so I'm giving it 7 days to shape up. Also, I'm going to have to block that username; per our username policy, the account name itself is considered promotional. Please register a new account, and happy editing. - Dank (push to talk) 20:12, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've tried to cut down on a lot of the promotionalism- down to mostly bare facts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ljt1212 (talkcontribs) 15:20, 15 May 2009 (UTC) If anyone thinks I should take out the AOL/Cityguide Awards let me know and I will delete, but there are references for these awards. - ljt1212 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ljt1212 (talkcontribs) 15:23, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good teamwork here, I see Thaddeus is getting involved. I knew there was an article here somewhere :) - Dank (push to talk) 19:59, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Curb Your Enthusiasm pilot episode?[edit]

The reference says pilot episode was filmed at the club. From the description, I suspect it was actually Larry David's 1999 HBO special which started the franchise. Larry's 1999 show is stand up while the later shows were set in LA. The description of episodes appear on List of Curb Your Enthusiasm episodes Americasroof (talk) 18:30, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
