Fair use rationale for Image:University of Houston Logo.png[edit]

Image:University of Houston Logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Removal of perceived indiscriminate statistics[edit]

Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. Specifically, it is not an an excessive listing of statistics nor should it emphasize information that is recent equally or more so than the historical items such as all-time bowl games or conference championships.

Therefore, although this information is interesting, I think it's not quite right for the article. I hope this makes sense. Brian Reading (talk) 02:09, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

CFPA Deletion/Sammy Baugh Trophy[edit]

I have undone a good faith edit by Brian Reading, who deleted the CFPA trophy listing under "individual awards" for the Houston Cougars. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia; it's our job to report material facts. The University has determined that these awards are notable and thus are to be included. The official UH roster lists Keenum as a CFPA trophy winner above his finalist selections for the O' Brien and winning the Sammy Baugh.

Here are some inclusions/press releases from UH that should settle the matter:

  • (a) Keenum, Beall, Carrier named CFPA preseason favorites

  • (b) Keenum is National Performer of the Week

  • (c) Keenum is honorable mention Performer of the Week

  • (d) Keenum named honorable mention Performer of the Week (associated mention)

  • (e) Several Cougars honored by CFPA

  • (f) Three Cougars honored by CFPA

  • (g) Keenum, Cleveland honored after loss by CFPA

http://www.uhcougars.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/100509aaa.html

  • (h) Keenum to be honored by CFPA at Hoops Contest

http://www.uhcougars.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/011410aaa.html

  • (i) Cougar Quartet honored as 2010 CFPA favorites

http://www.uhcougars.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/040810aaa.html

  • (j) Keenum is Unitas Award preseason mention (associate mention of CFPA)

http://www.uhcougars.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/070410aaa.html

It's pretty easy to find these by going to the UH news release listing: http://www.uhcougars.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/hou-m-footbl-spec-rel.html. Obamafan70 (talk) 12:08, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Number of All Americans[edit]

Does this number refer to First and Second team? The number of First Team AA is listed as (7) in the 2014 NCAA Awards Guide. There is some inconsistency here between the teams.
