Sutton House[edit]

In Hackney, close to Sutton House is an education department, which still bears an ILEA era signboard (on direct route from Hackney Central station to SH along the footpath for someone taking a photograph). Jackiespeel 17:26, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In the files at The National Archives there are copies of many protests against its abolition (which can be summarised as referring to the economies of scale for services over what would be provided by the boroughs) - and the authorities designed a 'bland statement' (quoting their term) in response to the effect that teh correspondents points had been noted and would be considered in developments. There was also one MP's letter to the effect that his constituents thought the ILEA a waste of money/resources Jackiespeel (talk) 15:44, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

ILEA vs The ILEA[edit]

Today I noticed the article used both forms inconsistently. Since ILEA is usually said as letters (The I.L.E.A) and not as a word (ill-ee-ya) by those who worked in and with it, I added 'the' to several places. I also checked and Hansard refers to it as 'the Ilea', albeit I didn't do an exhaustive search. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Antreid (talkcontribs) 18:25, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
