Council membership by party numbers[edit]

The article seems to be contradictory about the party make up of the council. The opening section says "Following the May 2018 election, Islington Council comprises 46 Labour Party councillors 1 Green Party councillor, and 1 Conservative Party councillor", but the info box says 45 Labour 1 Green 1 Conservative and 1 Independent, while the Politics section says 45 Labour 1 Green 1 Conservative, but make no mention of an Independent. Also the politics section confirms a total of 48 councillors, but the numbers by party only add up to 47. I think part of the issue here is that Rakhia Ismai moved from Labour to Conservative in 2020, but this further complicates the statement in the opening section as it is made clear elsewhere in the article (and press coverage of her defection) that she was the first Conservative Councillor in Islington since 1994, so there cannot have been a Conservative "Following the May 2018 election" as stated, so the figures here cannot be right. Could someone with more knowledge than me of the actual composition of the council see if they can sort this? Dunarc (talk) 20:22, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have just updated the article to reflect a, a ward boundary review giving Islington 51 councillors, rather than the previous 48 and b, the outcome of the 2022 local election (Labour 48, Green 3). I do not know how to edit the information in the sidebar on the right, so that remains out of date. N1accuComms (talk) 17:01, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
