Please change introductory paragraph to:

Israel Folau (Tongan: Isileli Folau;[7] born 3 April 1989) is an Australian professional footballer and Christian preacher. He currently plays rugby league football as a centre for the Catalans Dragons in the Betfred Super League.[8] He has previously played rugby league, Australian rules football and rugby union as a professional. In 2019, he became the record holder for most tries scored in Super Rugby history.[9]

His being a Christian preacher is referenced in the detail of the article. 220.244.10.86 (talk) 03:31, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Preaching is not his career. WWGB (talk) 08:41, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
By that measure Moses, Siddhartha Gautama, Confucius, Jesus Christ, Muhammed, Martin Luther, etc, etc were not preachers. The submitted edit was a statement of what Folau does and for what he is known. Clearly Folau is a professional sports player not just a rugby league player.

MOS[edit]

MOS:1STABBR indicates that on the first occurrence of an abbreviation it should be introduced with the full expression, ie. "National Rugby League (NRL)". Removing the full version from the lead entirely does not solve the problem of abbreviations later in the text. Nikkimaria (talk) 01:21, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

minor issue, but he's playing union and you linked to the league fullback position. PhinsUp23 (talk) 07:12, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
