School[edit]

There is no mention of his schooling, and there is for the others in the inbetweeners - anyone know where he went? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.7.91.15 (talk) 23:27, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Brexit[edit]

How sure are we that James Buckley's opinions on Brexit are genuine, as opposed to just trolling people for a laugh? The Independent source given states "he joked about visiting countries in Europe and branded it a "f***ing s**thole".", including lack of suitable drinking water and flushing toilets on the continent as reasons for Britain leaving the EU, adding his rant was "stupid and flippant for the purposes of newspapers watching". • We're a lot more sure that he said it than we are that his comments were "flippant for the purposes of newspapers watching", at the time he made the comment (rather than retconning it later). It wasn't a one liner, it was a long rant.
I've no objection to any reasonable wording changes around this, but he did say that, and that's sourceable. Even if he later claimed it had been a joke. Andy Dingley (talk) 14:23, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
He did clarify later that it was a joke, and in the same conversation said he didn't vote in the EU referendum and implied he had no opinion on the issues. You could possibly say that "In 2019, Buckley attracted criticism for calling Europe a "fucking shithole", appearing to support Brexit, but later clarified it had been a joke", but anything less than that doesn't sound neutral and balanced. I'll look for other sources, but my view that he was simply trolling stands at present. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:26, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
