Infobox image[edit]

This is a common question I often ask myself. What image should we give to the infobox of a character who often changes looks? The latest game or the most recognizable? Thanks to the artbook The Art of Tekken there is now commentary about Jin's first look. Anybody thinks it might be good to use then the classic look?Tintor2 (talk) 17:54, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Coming soon... Homeostasis07 (talk/contributions) 01:39, 10 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've rephrased a few things in the lead, but there are a couple of things I've not been able to rewrite myself. Could you elaborate on the below, because they don't mean all that much as they're currently written. The rest of the article should be fine. Homeostasis07 (talk/contributions) 02:06, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Lead

  • His constant fights with his family members would eventually lead him to become an antihero, as crafted by Bandai Namco's director Katsuhiro Harada but in a different way form from Kazuya and Heihachi. Nevertheless, Jin was portrayed as the main character from multiple adaptations due to the staff members finding him as a more suitable main character.
    • Revised
  • He is a particularly memorable character for the fighting game genre because of the impact he had on the storyline and the way his gameplay was altered to reflect the franchise's narrative. His dark characterization and devil persona were also noted while Devil Jin remained popular for retaining Jin's classic fighting style which he discarded.
    • Revised.
I made a couple of minor edits throughout the rest of article, but there was nothing major to complain about. Copyvio tool showed no problems (peaks @ 13%), and the images have decent FURs. Happy to promote this now. Well done! Homeostasis07 (talk/contributions) 21:22, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

Jin is better known for wearing only pants as his dogi ever since 3 and in the upcoming 8 which is discussed in the actual article. The hooded Tekken 7 outfit wasn't made by Jin's designer but instead by a guest artist. We already did a similar discussion when Kazuya was added to Smash so don't revert images. Tintor2 (talk) 23:39, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, wasn't aware that there was already a discussion about this. QuestFour (talk) 23:47, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tekken 6 image of Jin[edit]

I think we should use Tekken 6 image of Jin because he looks more muscular and detailed in it and here is the image : [1] Kazama16 (talk) 03:26, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I see no problem with it but remember to avoid edit wars. Tintor2 (talk) 10:20, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
His posture sucks, I disagree with that change. GlatorNator () 10:58, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea which posture is better. The only other image that was changed was Kazuya because when he was in Smash, the art was not fitting. The only important thing is keeping at least the most known outfit which is probably why we shouldn't use the 6: Bloodline Rebellion, 7 or 8 designs.Tintor2 (talk) 19:31, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
While his posture isn't great, I do feel the Tekken 6 image works better to show the character in full. However there are two things I would suggest: crop it down to the character itself before resizing and uploading, as this'll give far more detail. Also flipping the image might be a good idea: Jin's design is symmetrical, and having him facing the article may present a better pose.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 19:42, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Kung Fu Man look at this [2] is it better now? Kazama16 (talk) 18:42, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Looks really blurry for some reason. Maybe let me take a stab at it later, what are you using for image editing software?--Kung Fu Man (talk) 20:57, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really have a favorite image but it kinda confused me Jin's design from the first Tekken 8 trailer. It seemed like a remake of the original gi but the next trailer instead showed him with a more stylish clothing. I guess we should wait maybe for that. I don't have a preference still. A proper tshot like Kazuya's seems fine too. The PSP version of 5 also has another version of Tekken 3 Jin but with a more detailed view of the face.Tintor2 (talk) 21:03, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Kung Fu Man I'm using modded version of Picsart and B612. Kazama16 (talk) 01:01, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Image from Tekken 8 here : [3] the image is too big so it needs to be reduced in quality. Kazama16 (talk) 18:03, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@GlatorNator if you are using a mobile phone, turn on desktop site or desktop mode on your browser settings to see the full image at once. Kazama16 (talk) 18:52, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No. you cropping inages is almost still the same thing, as you only cropped its sides too. GlatorNator () 21:49, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
