Name[edit]

This page was originally John Corbett (American football), but was moved to John J. Corbett. Since then, the article has been modified to remove the middle initial. It seems like it should be moved back to John Corbett (American football). Thoughts? - DinoSlider (talk) 00:09, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@DinoSlider: the edits to remove the middle initial were made by an IP editor with personal testimony. I have restored the middle initial to the article. The NCAA database lists "John J. Corbett". That could easily be in error, but that should be shown with reliable sources. Jweiss11 (talk) 07:10, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@DinoSlider:(New to editing, so I apologize if I'm not doing protocol correctly.) As mentioned above, John Corbett had no middle name, hence no middle initial. Please change the title of the article. @Tlinse: The correspondence with his family is considered original research and not considered a reliable source unless it is published somewhere. A newspaper sounds like a great source, but it needs to be cited in the article. Take a look here if you need help with that. - DinoSlider (talk) 18:58, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
