Regions[edit]

These flags are used to represent regions.
China Chinese flag: Asia
Europe European flag: Europe & Oceania
Japan Japanese flag: Japan
United States USA flag: North America
World map: World

It does look nicer, kudos :). JDC808 (talk) 16:16, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully, the new silver background with grey font works well. It took quite a while to figure out how to do it hahaha. Ffgamera - My page! | Talk to me! | Contribs 03:46, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Asian Version of Home is only available in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea. That is what it stated in the Asian PS Home Website. I don't think China's flag should be used to represent Asia, since its not even part of the service. 123.243.187.37 (talk) 12:14, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You must not know your countries, because Hong Kong is a city in China. Also, we know what countries access the Asia Home, we actually know every country that accesses Home and what Home they access, me and Ffgamera discussed the flag to be used for Asia Home and we decided the Chinese flag would be best since Hong Kong is part of China and Hong Kong is also mistakingly used as the name of the region quite a lot and also, the other three have Chinese influence. JDC808 (talk) 13:27, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It seems that you know little about Asian politics JDC808. While Hong Kong is part of China, it is not as you claim, "a city in China." This compares it to Beijing and other mainland cities, while it is in fact run as a seperate administrative district with it's own laws and regulations. People from mainland China cannot enter Hong Kong without a special permit (similar to a visa). The Chinese flag represents China as a whole, and China as a whole is not represented here. Singapore and Korea have Chinese influences but are completely different in other ways, Singapore's dominant language for instance, is English. I understand the desire to use a single flag for ease of use, but ease of use does not merit the subjugation of other nations and cultures under one country's flag. A similar complain can be made about the use of the United States' flag to represent all of North America. Canada and Mexico are their own countries, autonomous from the United States.
It seems to me that flag decisions are being made using your own personal judgement, which is subject to inherent bias' based on your level of knowledge and your own nationality and experience. If you do not wish to use multiple flags, a better way would be to take the areas where there is not flag to represent multiple regions would be to use an organizational criteria, such as alphabetization of countries involved (not including China since the mainland, which as 99.5% of China's population, is not included) this would make (U.S. -> Canada, China->Hong Kong), or use population (U.S., China -> South Korea), or another factor. This organizational criteria could then be posted on the listing page, in order to make the reasons for flag usage more transparent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.7.224.222 (talk) 00:50, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the flag decision was not solely decided by me, so don't say it's my personal judgement. Ffgamera talked to me before hand and together, we decided these flags would be best to use. This isn't about politics, this is just about using one flag to represent a region for Home. Just a little justification on the usage of the U.S. flag, Mexico doesn't have access to Home, so it's really only representing Canada and the U.S.A. I mean, would it be better if we used the Hong Kong flag, since most people in the other regions of Home refer to the Asian Home as the Hong Kong Home? The same is also with the North American Home, most people call it the U.S. Home because they forget, or don't know, that Canada also has access to it. JDC808 (talk) 05:03, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm afraid the use of flags here is against WP:MOSFLAG: "When a flag icon is used for the first time in a list or table, it needs to appear adjacent to its respective country (or province, etc.) name, as not all readers are familiar with all flags. Use of flag templates without country names is also an accessibility issue, as it can render information difficult for color blind readers to understand. In addition, flags can be hard to distinguish when reduced to icon size." I think it would be much better to use country names or abbreviations as it makes the page more accessible and faster to load. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 07:43, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks, I will keep that in mind. Ffgamera - My page! · Talk to me!· Contribs 07:50, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't get the purpose of the Region column? Surely the Release column illustrated which regions the spaces are available in? Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 15:53, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I get what you're saying here. When the table was first made, that didn't really go through my mind. I just thought, okay, I'll let everyone know which region this space is available to and the next column will have its release. I'll remove the Region column. SIREN Lounge[edit]

The SIREN Lounge was made available for North America on May 7, 2009. It will be available for Europe at a later date. JDC808 (talk) 15:40, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

European Home Spaces[edit]

SCEE will be focusing more on getting more spaces available for the European Home due to the European Home being behind in the amount of spaces it offers to its users. This will include the Uncharted space, the Warhawk space, and an update to the Resident Evil 5 space, as well as some of the recent spaces like the Guitar Hero space as well as some new spaces. The SCEE Home Producer is currently investigating 17 spaces in all but TedTheDog, European Home Manager, doesn't believe all would be suitable and therefore not all would be published for the European Home. The timeline for this is probably about the next 2 to 4 months and there is likely to be a drop in output before it starts to really pick up and improve. The next few months in SCEE Home JDC808 (talk) 00:52, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

PixelJunk Space[edit]

There is currently not a source that can be used as a reference, but according to the PixelJunk Newsletter, there will be a PixelJunk PlayStation Home game space. The letter reads the following:

"PixelJunk(TM) Museum to open in PlayStation Home"

"Sony’s online community for the PlayStation3 will soon be getting a big dose of Q-Games love, in the shape of a new Home Space dedicated to the PixelJunk(TM) series. We’re working hard to bring PixelJunk(TM) Racers, PixelJunk(TM) Monsters, PixelJunk(TM) Eden and now PixelJunk(TM) Shooter to life in a stylish new Museum environment. You’ll be able to browse the latest movies of our games, hang out with other PixelJunk(TM) fans, and express yourself the PixelJunk way with some surprising new clothing items and accessories." Katamari Forever[edit]

I've read that Katamari Forever will include content for PlayStation Home. See source. However, I'm not sure of how this table works. Could someone who knows more about it integrate this information? ~ Hibana 17:18, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The table works as such, there are 7 categories, so when making a row for a game in the table you need to put 8 of these, "|", the eighth one is to separate the boxes and needs a "-" after it. Basically the easiest thing to do, is copy and paste another one of the games listed in the edit page and then take out it's information and add in the new games information. However, the information on Katamari Forever does not pertain to PlayStation Home Game Spaces, it's just for extra content and is more suited for the PlayStation Home page. However, since there are tons of content like this, we just put it in an update section on the talk page, (for this information, it would go in the July 2009 Updates section) which by the way, I've already got the Katamari Forever information on the talk page, except I used the Japanese name for it since it's only for the Asian and Japanese Home currently. Burn Zombie Burn, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, & Street Fighter IV spaces[edit]

A Burn Zombie Burn space has been released for the Asian, European, and North American Home on July 30, 2009.

A MotorStorm: Pacific Rift space will be launching in the coming weeks. The space was launched on August 13, 2009 but will only be accessible for a limited time. It will be removed on October 9, 2009. JDC808 (talk) 16:10, 8 October 2009 (UTC) It will fully launch later this year. JDC808 (talk) 21:36, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A Street Fighter IV space has been released in the Japanese Home on July 30, 2009 and in the Asian Home on September 24, 2009. JDC808 (talk) 20:47, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Game Launching category[edit]

As soon as patch v1.3 goes live for Home in September, I am going to remove that section because Universal Game Launching will be implemented with v1.3 meaning all PS3 games will be able to be game launched from Home. JDC808 (talk) 00:49, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've decided that instead of removing the category, I renamed it. I have renamed it to "Full Game Launching Support" because when Core Client update v1.30 is implemented on October 1, 2009, there will be two types of game launching: full and simplified. Full game launching is what is currently available to the games that are listed in this article that support it, which is letting users set up a multi-player game in Home and the games name appears above the head of the user's avatar and other users can join the session. With simplified game launching, users simply insert the game of their choice into their PS3 while in Home and then when they go into game launching and select the game, it takes them to the start menu of the game which is where they have to set up the multi-player game and the name of the game does not appear above the user's avatar's head and other users can't join the launch, they have to meet them in the game. JDC808 (talk) 04:23, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

SingStar Space[edit]

The SingStar space was released to Europe and North America on September 24, 2009 and includes a VIP room inside of it for UK rapper Dizzee Rascal. JDC808 (talk) 05:46, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The VIP room will be removed on October 9, 2009 so it can be prepared for the next event. JDC808 (talk) 16:11, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For anyone who may have trouble in editing the page.[edit]

The page is set up accordingly.

There is a category for Game, Name of Space, Features, Developer, Full Game Launching Support, Region, and Release.

The table is set up as such, you need eight of these, | , the last one will need a dash, - , after it so the box for that game space will be closed and not run into the next one. Here is how it works:

|*name of game* <===This first one is where the name of the game goes.

| <===This one is where the name of the space goes.

|*features of space* <===This is where the features of the space in a bulleted style go.

|*developer of game* <===This is where the games developer goes.

|*Yes or No for game launching* <===This is for if the game supports full game launching or not. Either Yes or No in the brackets {{ }}.

| <===This is for the region. It's flagicon|either China, Europe, (Japan- exception, as it has a border), or USA. flagicon|and name of country will need to be in the brackets {{ }}.

| <===This is where the release date of the space goes. If there is a different release date for the regions, then put the flag of the region in the same template as the last, then put the date after the closing brackets, then put the line brake coding in and put the next regions flag and release date If there's a case that it releases in two regions on the same day then another region on a different day, then do two of the flag templates right beside each other for the two or three regions and then put the date and then put a line brake for the next region.

|- <===This closes it.

If you don't feel like going through all of this, just post what you're wanting to edit here on the talk page, and I'll take care of it for you. JDC808 (talk) 03:41, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No need for this detail, as all they need to do is copy and paste the parameters. But anyway, I have changed the background parameters to normal, and made the Japan flag icon have a border. Ffgamera - My page! · Talk to me!· Contribs 07:07, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page[edit]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
